Quite fancied a pair of the tiny ankle uggs this winter, my 17 year old sister tells me they are so 2012!!😂
Opinions?

Weird bouncer comment upthread.

I agree that what we all have in mind when we think of uggs are house slippers. I have one pair of those that I use for house slippers. I have three pairs of ugg ankle boots, all are actual shoes, they have side zips for a close fit, one of them has a wooden heel and it's a tough sturdy little thing with stock chic vibe.

TheEC · 27/09/2020 20:25

They are hideous. I love them

VenusClapTrap · 27/09/2020 20:26

There are better ways to have warm feet.

passthemustard · 27/09/2020 20:26

Well you have to get the proper expensive ones because the whole idea them is around wool lining and the £5 a pair ones are synthetic, won't keep you warm and will just make you sweaty. I always hated them until someone bought me a pair and I haven't looked back. I was so glad last week when it was cold in the morning and I could put my boots on.

AdoptedBumpkin · 27/09/2020 20:27

Don't mind them, but my most recent pair are knackered.

Dillo10 · 27/09/2020 20:27

Get UGG slippers to wear at home! So comfy

SBTLove · 27/09/2020 20:27

I’m always disappointed in these threads that nobody seems to care about the cruelty factor, wood you wear a real fur coat? probably not yet you’ll wear a dead animal
on your feet.

SBTLove · 27/09/2020 20:27

*would

CocoChanel22 · 27/09/2020 20:28

Noooooo. Nay. No!

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 27/09/2020 20:31

Rocket Dogs.

Sheepskin is a great use of a by-product from food production. Like leather, or wool. Sustainable, doesn't use fossil fuels, natural. Great if you can find organic wool, hide etc.

maddiemookins16mum · 27/09/2020 20:31

Yuk. All the ones I see look filthy (and worn with pyjamas in Tesco) and worn down at the ankles/heels.

Nyancat · 27/09/2020 20:33

I wear mine around the house and for after openwater swimming so easy to pull on, cosy and no socks needed. Wouldn't wear them out anywhere else though.

TokenGinger · 27/09/2020 20:33

I love my Ugg boots. They're my go-to all through winter. They're so comfortable and so long as they're genuine, they are a good support. I can walk around in mine for hours and be comfortable.

If you like them, go for them. I know lots of people think they're hideous but thankfully I only care about what I think when it comes to what I wear :)

We have Aussie family who have kept my teen daughter shod in Uggs to get her to/from swimming since she was a toddler.

I don't think she wears them otherwise.

Serena1977 · 27/09/2020 20:38

Love mine, had them for ages. Have really cold feet so they keep them warm and dont care if people think they are out of fashion.

MaverickDanger · 27/09/2020 20:38

The only time they leave the house is if I’m putting the bins out or if we’ve been to the beach on a chilly day.

Aussie DH would kill me otherwise.

Bought mine 5 years ago and still going strong.

Plussizejumpsuit · 27/09/2020 20:38

I have a fiver pair from primark or tesco. I wear as slippers in the house in the winter. I also used to wear a pair at my desk (and change when I left my small office for meetings) as I work in a heritage building and its bloody cold!
I think if you just want them as slippers buy a cheaper pair. But also do what you want!

Supersimkin2 · 27/09/2020 20:39

When something's called chavvy or common, it's always got something special going for it - in this case, cloudsoft comfort.

Warm toes in winter are bliss. Bring the Shoes of Shame on, I say.

BurningQuestion1 · 27/09/2020 20:40

I have a pair of the knitted Ugg's from years ago. Most impractical shoe I ever stupidly bought Grin Tell you what though, they are brilliant slippers. I gave up trying to wear the bloody things outside and now they are my official winter slippers and have been for years. Sooooooooooo comfortable and warm.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 27/09/2020 20:41

I love mine - as slippers. I might, at a push, wear them to fetch something from the car but aside from that, never wear them outdoors.

madcatladyforever · 27/09/2020 20:42

Gross, chavvy and nobody looks good in them not even supermodels, makes normal women look short, fat and ugly.
When there are so many lovely boots in the world why would anyone choose to wear these ugly boots and they ruin your feet and ankles.
I hate them with every fibre of my being, if there are mens versions I'd dump any partner of mine for wearing them.

DeliaOwens · 27/09/2020 20:42

I wear them at home only, more as slippers and keeping warm without having to outvote heating on for cold feet. I never wear them outside except to do the bins 🙂

Prufrocks · 27/09/2020 20:43

@TheEC

They are hideous. I love them
This sums up how I feel about them too.

They’re coming back! Urban Outfitters is stocking them. I mean, they’re also stocking velour and diamanté juicy couture tracksuits but that’s really a bridge too far.

StayClosePooky · 27/09/2020 20:44

Hands down the best boots I've had. Extremely warm and comfy. If that makes me a chav... then so be it!
