In love with late friend’s husband

My dearest friend died after a long illness in December last year. Her husband was devastated, as was I. During lockdown we have been messaging each other. It started with just checking that we were ok but then progressed to longer conversations. I found I was waiting for his texts every morning. Then we started to go for socially distanced walks and have grown closer. Yesterday we went for a meal and he told me that he had feelings for me. I realise I feel the same but I just feel so guilty about my friend. Is it too soon?

I said shagging because it was in response to the poster who said she wouldn't be happy with her widowered husband shagging her BFF, but it sounds like OP and this man aren't even sleeping with eachother yet and are just enjoying the other's company.

My mother in law died following a long illness. My father in law is still single but I wish he was in your Male friends shoes.

Taking care of my mother in law during her illness changed the whole dynamic of their relationship;they were less husband and wife and more carer and the cared for.I know it was a lonely place for my FIL to be.

I'd personally love for him to meet someone who'd make him smile again.
