Is it just every week we are in lockdown or is that it forever and we have become a nation of clappers? Do I need to move?

Tell me about it!!! Driving me mad!

vampirethriller · 09/04/2020 20:04

Fireworks here.

Connie222 · 09/04/2020 20:04

It’s not just the clapping it’s the banging of pots and pans. And the fireworks.

CheriLittlebottom · 09/04/2020 20:04

Oh god YES. Please just be quiet and donate some money if you want to help.

AhoyMrBeaver · 09/04/2020 20:04

It's so easy to not stay inside and not join in if you don't want to.

SassenachWitch · 09/04/2020 20:04

Banging pans, blowing horns and playing You’ll Never Walk Alone in my street tonight Hmm

Orangedaisy · 09/04/2020 20:05

I agree. I’m desperately trying to get 3yo dd to settle after a horrendous day and then all hell breaks loose outside. I am hugely grateful for what the nhs are doing and I feel awful for being a miseryguts but can’t we do it at a more sociable time for the little ones!!

AhoyMrBeaver · 09/04/2020 20:05

*stay inside, not 'not stay inside'!

PumpkinPie2016 · 09/04/2020 20:05

I have seen it on the news etc. but I live 2 miles from the nearest small village so don't actually see it in real life. If I stand at my door, I can just about hear noise from the village (cheering etc.).

It's a nice gesture in a way. I personally find anything like that quite cringey-no idea whyHmm

Pretenditsaplan · 09/04/2020 20:05

At least your tone deaf neighbour hasnt decided to do an outdoor concert outside her front door...

FunnyInjury · 09/04/2020 20:05

Fireworks and Jerusalem here 🤷‍♀️🤯

Doobigetta · 09/04/2020 20:05

Fireworks here too. It’s not even dark Hmm

Indecisivelurcher · 09/04/2020 20:06

Absolutely nothing here!

Eggcited · 09/04/2020 20:06

It’s not just the clapping it’s the banging of pots and pans. And the fireworks.

Exactly the same on my street. I think the clapping was a lovely gesture, but now it's morphed into who can make the loudest noise.

orangejuicer · 09/04/2020 20:07

Beaver on a warm night with windows open and trying to put a child to bes. Yeah I'm the unreasonable one.

Oliversmumsarmy · 09/04/2020 20:07

Completely peaceful here.

Not one person has ever come out and clapped.

Andylion · 09/04/2020 20:07

Is it just every week? It's every night here, (in Canada, at least in my neighbourhood) since last Friday.

UnfinishedSymphon · 09/04/2020 20:07

Every night in Spain, my uncle posts a video on FB every night so we all get the benefit 🤬

Inver · 09/04/2020 20:08

I love it Smile

Thuglife · 09/04/2020 20:08

My neighbour I was banging a saucepan lid right by my open window and making loud pointed comments about how “ they thought more people would be out”. I’m a fucking nurse- keep your claps, support your NHS all the time not just during a crisis. Probably sounds cynical but hey.

TeetotalKoala · 09/04/2020 20:08

Don't think my street did it tonight. I'm sat in my bedroom, which is at the front of the house and j didn't hear anything. Hopefully it'll start filtering through now and will ease off. You will always get some who live to virtue signal though.

Merename · 09/04/2020 20:08

What was it for tonight? Nhs again? Here we have only had it the first two nhs ones, I don’t think anyone did the Boris one or the children one. We didn’t do any but I could hear the racket tonight.

CheriLittlebottom · 09/04/2020 20:08

The thing that's most irritating me (other than noise at kiddie bedtime) is that it is so fucking pointless. What is it achieving? What is better after a load of random noise than before? Nothing!!

Snowdown24 · 09/04/2020 20:08

I’m not a fan and it’s just woken me up from a nap! But if they want to do it and they feel it’s important to them, what am I to care....too busy trying to extend my nap.

Live and let live

Thismummyruns · 09/04/2020 20:09

I have no issue with it as such but who suggested 8pm would be the best time!?
Teething, non sleeping baby here 😩
