And would you do anything if you could completely get away with it?! Mine is my daughter’s swimming teacher, he has the sexiest smile and is so good with the kids. Totally gives me the flutters but I’m guessing he’s not into overweight bespectacled women in their forties! Grin

OP posts:
SilverOtter · 24/02/2020 22:13

I just read through everyone else's posts and don't feel so bad now😊

Oh as well as being drop dead shagtastically gorgeous, my crush is also very sweet, helpful and funny😍

Darbs76 · 24/02/2020 22:14

Yes someone at work. He’s not in my direct team but on the same floor and we attend the same weekly meeting and often catch up for a chat. He’s told me 3 times his wife has left him, he tells me rude stories, when he jokes about no talent in the office he says things like ‘obviously you’re a 10’ but I just assume he’s joking. I’ve been so long out of the dating game I’m not sure how to read it. I guess I just wait and see if anything happens.

RickOShay · 24/02/2020 22:15

Yes I do. He’s lovely. Just lovely.
Thinking about him makes me smile.

Bigblue20 · 24/02/2020 22:16

It's a conspiracy to distract us from our careers. Or something.

Darbs76 · 24/02/2020 22:17

And he actually is called Tom. Lol

wizzywig · 24/02/2020 22:23

Long live all Toms!

insideoutsider · 24/02/2020 22:26

@Bigblue20
I love how you go from Parliament to Tesco

I'm currently doing Law of Attraction for this very purpose. He is going to be travelling across the country and decide to stop over for quick snack... We're going to meet on the meal-deal isle.
I'll say, in a breathy voice, 'Oh, it's you...' and he'll say, 'I've been looking all over for you...'.

The kids would love him.

CustardandCake · 24/02/2020 22:28

So glad to see so many in the same boat as me!! Grin
But no, wouldn't do anything (hopefully)

Anyway what happens if you do end up doing something at crush stage? I imagine the charm will be vanish then! Or you start a relationship?? I can't seem to remember Blush

Surly · 24/02/2020 22:28

Yes, someone who I would never think I'd hve a crush on ever but I cany help it.
Everyone I've told looks at him and goes 'huh really' not because hes ugly but because he is so not my type.
I'd never do anything I have a dh and jve even told him about the crush and he has the same reaction.
But I cannot get him out of my head Blush

Darbs76 · 24/02/2020 22:30

It’s so hard to know if someone’s genuinely interested or not. I wouldn’t dare say anything incase I made a fool of myself. He does owe me a tenner from a post work event meal, I paid his share as he was walking my friend and I back together to the car and she was in a rush (he was going to pay by card). I was debating saying hey you owe me a tenner, don’t forget, or you can take me for a drink instead! But I’m too scared! Hope he’s not reading Mumsnet! Lol

SuckingDieselFella · 24/02/2020 22:39

Wow Darbs76, you've hit the jackpot.

He fancies you and he's called Tom. Grin

YgritteSnow · 24/02/2020 22:41

DD's history teacher. He's lovely 😊

AntennaReborn · 24/02/2020 22:45

Yes, several. All completely inappropriate: I am married for start, one of them is my (married) boss, another one is young enough to be my son Blush, a third one is really bad news, etc.

Would I act on it if there were no consequences? Absolutely. Would I ever in real life? Definitely not.

SuckingDieselFella · 24/02/2020 22:48

I can't help noticing that many of these guys are teachers.

And they are called Tom.

FakeFraudSquad · 24/02/2020 22:49

Fuck me. My Tom, the original Tom is...

A teacher Confused.

Are they all the same Tom?!

Bigblue20 · 24/02/2020 22:50

@Darbs76 that's the problem though, isn't it? Once it's going on in your head you don't know if you are imagining it or ignoring genuine signs.

Or in @insideoutsider case, the universe is slowly drawing you together and all you have to do is wish for it...

Bigblue20 · 24/02/2020 22:51

Tom is a tease. And playing with us all.

SuckingDieselFella · 24/02/2020 22:52

It's a conspiracy.

Mine is a college lecturer.

FakeFraudSquad · 24/02/2020 22:53

Black hair. Blue Eyes. Pale Skin. Dimples. Incredible arms?

FakeFraudSquad · 24/02/2020 22:54

Oh fuck. I’m in bed thinking about Tom and his dimples and arms and blue blue eyes...this isn’t good! I thought I was over him!

hides thread

SuckingDieselFella · 24/02/2020 22:55

Yes to the first four.

Shock
BrainBetrayingMe · 24/02/2020 22:56

All your posts make me feel so much better and less daft for harbouring my crush.
I just can't get over how its come out of the blue completely consuming me. I'll be in work and count down how long till I'll see him again. And my imagination goes riot...Blush

* @Darbs76* Seriously, I'm well out of practice, but your Tom is giving you the serious nod there. Can't you engage with his hints and do something, so we can all live vicariously through you? Some of us have no hope with our crushes, but how lovely if this thread turned into a real live relationship thread. NB don't forget the obligitary diagrams and updates! WinkGrin

FakeFraudSquad · 24/02/2020 22:58

@SuckingDieselFella

Have you seen him in short sleeves though? Cos my Tom usually wears long sleeved shirts and then in for an inset day he turned up in shorts and a t-shirts and his arms were just...

I can’t.

I have to stop.

No more Tom.

Bad Tom.

Darbs76 · 24/02/2020 22:58

@Bigblue20 - exactly. I keep thinking he probably flirts with everyone. I’m too scared of rejection and having to work with him if I’m wrong, so I’ll keep my Tom as a nice daydream! Unless he reads Mumsnet and asks me out tomorrow :)

FakeFraudSquad · 24/02/2020 22:59

Who the hell does Tom think he is anyway?

Bursting in with his dimples and his arms and his general wonderfulness.

I hate Tom. Tom can piss right off.
