I am waiting with interest to find out what happens next, following on from this afternoon's talks at Sandringham.

Poor old Queen. She can't have finished the leftover turkey yet and here she is, embroiled in another crisis.

Yes apparently Doria was in prison, something that would be 100% verifiable, but scum papers like the Daily Mail have just been sitting on it Hmm. Zero evidence except for her being black but you're totally not racists. This thread and a lot of the posters on it are utterly vile.

kinsss · 13/01/2020 23:34

Moving away slowly from......

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 23:35

If its the prison rumours then apparently its incorrect, but there was a woman with a similar name in the system around that time. But it's just mistaken identity. Which I'm inclined to believe as over in the States mugshots/booking forms etc seem to be in the public domain. Or at least VERY easy to obtain!

There's just no version of the Internet where proof wouldn't be knocking around.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 23:37

The stuff about her father is much more interesting and sad ☹️

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 23:37

Another theory is that she was just in a hippy commune in Northern California.

More probable, tbh.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 13/01/2020 23:39

Whatever it was it doesn’t sound like she was a very good mother.

scaryteacher · 13/01/2020 23:40

I've seen prison and being a flight attendant..the former seems to be false.

SeperatedSwans · 13/01/2020 23:42

Yes hippy community "finding herself" I think is far more probable than a rumour that would instantly be verified by public record. And again like o said no way could you bargain a tell all or even think of "playing with the press" if such a secret did exist, which for the record I don't think it does at all.

Doria is also a qualified social worker with a degree in psychology and social work. You can't be a social worker with a criminal record in the US. So I think that while idea of thinking just needs to be put to bed.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 23:42

Whatever the truth is, it doesn’t sound like either were that fantastic, not that Harry’s were either Sad

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 13/01/2020 23:47

Which is all the more reason for them to have taken more time to know each other.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 23:48

So both William and Harry's MILs were flight attendants.

PaperFlowers4 · 13/01/2020 23:48

I don’t believe she was ever in prison. It would be so easily verified and then printed in every tabloid. Isn’t she a trained counsellor? And wouldn’t a criminal record preclude professional registration or licensing?

Another theory is that she was just in a hippy commune in Northern California

This is what I thought the rumour was, before googling. Going off to “find herself” seems code for commune or even a cult.

fallen121 · 13/01/2020 23:49

Wasn't Doria Ragland once a social worker in California? Can you do that with a criminal record? Wouldn't have thought so.

The only way it COULD have been possible would be if she had once lived under a name other than Doria Ragland. You know like that Samantha Markle woman who was once Samantha Grant and before that Yvonne Grant and before that Yvonne Markle.....

SunsetBoulevard3 · 13/01/2020 23:51

I’m very surprised no one has gone to the press with a story about Doria’s past.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 13/01/2020 23:53

No you can't. And someone who worked or studied with Doria has actually pointed that out It won't stop the poison though, sadly

vadam · 13/01/2020 23:54

What is Doria's past?? Can anyone elaborate or send a PM with details? Interested to know!

fallen121 · 13/01/2020 23:55

I don't follow Samantha Markle on Twitter but it's a good bet that if there are rumours about Doria having been in prison then they originated from her.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 13/01/2020 23:56

CondeNasty

Totally agree.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 23:56

TBF Doria seems pretty cool.

Whatever went on she has resolved her relationship with her daughter.

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 23:56

Her past is probably not that interesting tbh.

Whatever her history, she's been the best part of the whole family, imo.

Can't help wishing Harry had married HER instead! 😂

karencantobe · 14/01/2020 00:00

Going off to find herself could also be cover for serious mental health problems. But who cares. It is none of your business.

Teddy1970 · 14/01/2020 00:02

The MM superfan who started the William affair rumour has admitted she did started it to make H & M look good and bring down the Cambridges, she got prosecuted for it.

DeRigueurMortis · 14/01/2020 00:02

TBH the rumours about M's parents are irrelevant imho.

I'm not going to judge her on the basis of what her parents might have got up to as a child (and the rumours about Doria are just silly).

I don't even judge M as a person, in the sense I don't know her and have never met her.

What I do judge is H&M's actions in creating a shit storm when none was needed and in their incredible sense of self entitlement about the lifestyle they think they deserve on the back of "quitting" their roles and the UK in a very unpleasant and underhand way.

EmeraldShamrock · 14/01/2020 00:02

The photos online of Meghan with her Dad are sad, she looks so happy with him, he did sell her down the swanny before the wedding with interviews.
After the letter was published she was dead right to go nc.
I don't believe Doria was in prison at all.

TheMustressMhor · 14/01/2020 00:03

Well, that was a miserable day for Prince Harry, and no mistake.

I remember saying to DH when they got engaged that it would not be a successful marriage, and that MM would go back to the States once she had a child.

I wasn't expecting that to happen before their second wedding anniversary, though.

Dear me. Markle seems to have played Harry for a fool.
