I am waiting with interest to find out what happens next, following on from this afternoon's talks at Sandringham.

Poor old Queen. She can't have finished the leftover turkey yet and here she is, embroiled in another crisis.

It seems that MMs PR team have been in contact with various U.S. TV networks already. There would be no way back for Harry if he did such an interview.

Seems the military aren't thrilled with him either. Most of us who are married to Forces, ex Forces, think 'put me first' at some point, but know that the needs of the job come first, second and third. This should have been spelt out in no uncertain terms to MM, that the institution was bigger than her, and that the star of the show was and is HM. MM would be supporting cast only, but it was the role of a lifetime.

Wonder how it's going over there in Norfolk 🧐

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:31

@queenofarles Sorry I had forgot the Woking Pizza Express thing. But I thought it was alleged to have happened elsewhere as well? Not sure.

MurrayTheMonk · 13/01/2020 12:31

I wonder if that statement is Harry realising it's all gone a bit too far.
Loved Kate's 'do on the school run this morning. Whatever happens she comes out of all of this best doesn't she? Nations sweetheart tm.

Do you all think a man should prioritise his wife and child over his parents and extended family and ex workplace? Because most people would agree that is the right thing to do.

CleansUpDragonPoo · 13/01/2020 12:32

Ah, the 'friends' are coming out now:

www.eonline.com/news/1110758/prince-harry-s-friend-offers-theory-about-his-and-meghan-markle-s-royal-exit:
There have been several theories circulating as to why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to "step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family," as they put it, and now, one of the Duke of Sussex's friends is offering his rare insight into the controversy.

JJ Chalmers, a former Royal Marine who met Harry when they served in the military together several years ago, shared his thoughts in a recent interview on the BBC's The One Show.

"He's less the captain in the army I used to knew, and he's more the father, and when I see him, it's 'How's the kid?' So that's the first thing that comes up," Chalmers said. "When you look at the decision that he's made, I think at the forefront of that is to protect his family, because that's the number one rule, is to be a father and to be a husband."

In their historic announcement, reportedly not made in advance to neither Queen Elizabeth II nor Prince Charles, Harry and Meghan, parents of baby son Archie Harrison, said, "We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."

"Any husband wants to protect their wife and any father wants to protect their children, and particularly when he's a very principled individual," he continued. "So when he looks at the way that the media for example reacts and how social media talks about someone, he has to answer to his son one day, when he begins to understand this and be able to look him in the face and say, 'I made the right decision and I did right by you.' Ultimately, [Harry] grew up in the limelight and he knows how this can end if it's not handled correctly."

Her (Kate’s) hair was amazing, you think she did it herself? Grin

Fraggot · 13/01/2020 12:33

I love that Phil has left before the meeting commences Grin

‘Liz! Get me out of here! If you don’t, I’ll end up saying something you regret! Get me the car, I’m off to that pizza place Andy told us about’

TwentyViginti · 13/01/2020 12:35

Kate looked so elegant! I don't feel well today. My 'updo' is hair tied up in a scrunchie Grin

EmeraldShamrock · 13/01/2020 12:35

Do you all think a man should prioritise his wife and child over his parents and extended family and ex workplace?
Yes under normal circumstances in a normal relationship. The Royals like the mafia you marry the family.
As I said love or not they should have never married without intense therapy and even then.

LotteLupin · 13/01/2020 12:36

Does a peadophile have an unnatural fondness for peas? 😀☺️

(It's all wrong, all of it, of course, both with R. Andy and how young Diana was.)

But re:MM - so disrespectful and misleading to compare her - Diana was a genuine altruist and she found a way through her stress by making her title mean something beyond a failed personal relationship. She really did do some amazing stuff for others and actually did have a heart of gold.

MM is a self-publicist. She actually said in that Africa interview that she was so naive she didn't even know who Prince Harry was. What kind of arrogant loon would think we actually wouldn't notice what extraordinary bollocks that was? Apparently she was an expert on Diana from a young age, and she's pictured posing outside Buckingham Palace.

I actually am beginning to think she's a long long long term stalker of Prince Harry. And I'm pretty sure whatever she tells you about herself, it's just what she wants to plant in your beliefs about her - usually the exact opposite is true.

If so, this really is a nightmare. And he's been vulnerable because of what happened to his mum. I'm quite sure Diana would never have allowed her two boys to be separated. And she'd have dealt pretty smartly with anyone who tried to prise Harry off and make him dependent and carry him off as a trophy to Hollywood. Omg. 😥

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:37

@Fraggot GrinGrinGrin

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 12:38

So building a global brand and moving to LA is all to protect Archies privacy?? Lol.

Funny how Edward did OK protecting his kids privacy. Nobody has a balls what his son even looks like. (or his name, off the top of my head)

Mominatrix · 13/01/2020 12:38

Legal age of consent in the US is state determined (16, 17 or 18). New York State is 17 but all the states surrounding it is 16.

theThreeofWeevils · 13/01/2020 12:39

Nations sweetheart tm

Or 'bland and scrawny clotheshorse', depending on your personal taste.

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 12:39

Yeah MM showed pics of the inside of her house on The Tig and unfortunately had books on Diana on a shelf.

Ooops!

MurrayTheMonk · 13/01/2020 12:41

I can't think Kate did her hair herself. If she did she's bloody good at it! >>eyes own windswept hair and wonders if it all would have been different if I was an HRH

MurrayTheMonk · 13/01/2020 12:42

Meghan actually said she didn't know who Harry was? Come on now lady...and it's things like that that don't help her I guess...

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:43

I can’t find any pictures of Kate’s hair this morning! 😩😩😩

EmeraldShamrock · 13/01/2020 12:43

Or 'bland and scrawny clotheshorse', depending on your personal taste Shock

Planeplane · 13/01/2020 12:43

Do you all think a man should prioritise his wife and child over his parents and extended family and ex workplace?

I think life is about give and take... sometimes family and parents might need more, sometimes work is very important and needs a bit of extra focus.
That's not what's going on here though, is it. She's agreed to move here and live here with him...then had a baby and changed her mind, what is he supposed to do, he can't win.

MurrayTheMonk · 13/01/2020 12:43

What are Edwards kids names? How many does he even have?

queenofarles · 13/01/2020 12:44

Maybe she has Somewhere to go? An unannounced visit later?

Planeplane · 13/01/2020 12:44

Or 'bland and scrawny clotheshorse', depending on your personal taste.

But apparently she never gets any abuse at all...

ClickCheese · 13/01/2020 12:44

Can't they just use the Zara & Mike Tindall model. Zara is of the same generation/line and they make their own way.
