I am waiting with interest to find out what happens next, following on from this afternoon's talks at Sandringham.

Poor old Queen. She can't have finished the leftover turkey yet and here she is, embroiled in another crisis.

Only 3 Acts.
I think this is a soap opera. (Belated Xmas Special «Den serving Ange the divorce papers»)

karencantobe - Diana was 19 when she was first in the public eye. She was naturally shy. She would actually blush with embarrassment. It was not unnatural - at least to start with. Meghan was 36 when she was in the public eye, an actress, an independent woman who had given speeches and had life experience - the doe eyed innocent look therefore comes over as unnatural at 36. Can you not see how it isn't comparing like for like?

Likewise, I don't remember Diana gazing up and looking at Charles in the same way as Meghan. Her walk was natural. Did she giggle behind her hands in her mid-30s? I don't think so. She wasn't seen clasping friends in poses for pictures while resting her head on their chest etc.

Obviously, also there wasn't MN in the 1980s or newspapers online so how on earth could have have criticised Diana?

I have criticised Kate for allowing her skirts to fly up to show her knickers. I've seen clips of Diana holding on to her skirts even though they were longer, she had more innate grace than both Kate and Meghan.

Granted I do think when Diana gave her famous interview she did do the big-eyed look - and she was criticised in the press for it!

Prince William and Prince Harry have just issued a joint statement about the "false" report of Harry being bullied by William.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 12:17

Incidentally, I find it interesting that Andrew is being called a peadophile for allegedly sleeping with a 17 year old girl when Diana was a mere two years older when she married Prince Charles who was what? In his 30’s?

CleansUpDragonPoo · 13/01/2020 12:21

Andrew was in his forties and we're told the girl was unwilling, no comparison to Diana who was from a noble family and thrilled to be with Charles (at least initially!)

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 12:22

Jeremy Vine is in on the act now...

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:23

I wonder if it’s all got a bit out of hand and Harry is trying to backpeddle a little so as not to COMPLETELY fuck off the people he’s ultimately going to be relying on the goodwill of in many ways in the future. This would be especially true if it is actually a load of BS about W ‘bullying’ and it’s all just gone a bit far

You are giving Fergie some ideas now. Wink

The joint statement is to deny the bullying story who was leaked by a friend of Harry , any guess who it might be?

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 13/01/2020 12:23

.

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:24

And the RF have turned round and said enough

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:24

I have no idea if press statements are true or not. But of course people issue untrue press statements all the time that are later proven to be false. No I did not have an affair, no I did not lie, no I did not defraud, no I have never taken drugs. You really can't see why people sometimes use press statements to lie? If you are being honest you are very naive.

GlitchStitch · 13/01/2020 12:25

Has the joint statement been released anywhere official? I've only seen it on Omid Scobie's twitter. Funny comments underneath it though, apparently the 'Sussex squad' are angry that Harry is fraternising with the enemy.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:25

@MrsBrentford Someone has already explained that in America where this has alleged to happen, it would have been illegal. Different countries have different laws.

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:25

Does make me laugh that with all these ‘sources’ and ‘leaks’ that have come out in the last few days, that H&M still are under the impression they can control the media! They can’t even control the flappy mouths of their own ‘circles’ apparently!

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:26

@GlitchStitch Yes I am not sure if it is even true. Could be a hoax.

Rinoachicken · 13/01/2020 12:26

@GlitchStitch it’s on BBC now

CleansUpDragonPoo · 13/01/2020 12:26

I'm happy to be a commoner and have to pay for myself and be obscure.. Wouldn't want their lives, just their jewellery boxes..!

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 12:27

What is the age of consent in the US? 18?

EmeraldShamrock · 13/01/2020 12:27

I never got the adoration of Diana either
There is no denying Diana carried out amazing charity work. She got rid of land mines albeit after her death bit down to her work. She removed the stigma for people suffering from Aids. She was an amazing humanitarian.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 12:27

It was on BBC news about the statement.

ElspethFlashman · 13/01/2020 12:27

Well if Omid Scobie releases it, then it's from the Sussex camp.

He's their little pet.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:28

Apparently for under 18s there has to be no more than 2 years difference in age. So 17 and 19 is fine. Andrew was much older than that.

GlitchStitch · 13/01/2020 12:29

Ok, thanks. Haven't seen the news.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:29

Yes Diana did good stuff as well. People are not all good or all bad. Something that seems to escape many people.

queenofarles · 13/01/2020 12:29

karen
No it happened here, but according to Andrew it can’t be true as he was in Woking at that time.
