...Scene One?

I think we probably do need a third thread.

Giles Coren wishes he was bezzie mates with the Royals. He makes a living out of being goady and trying to be in on the gossip.

If he was so sure of the 'affair' he wouldn't have deleted his tweet quite so quickly after a call from the Royal's solicitors.

I always thought Harry and Kate got on brilliantly, didn't they do an engagement together last year? I can't see Harry doing an interview about an alleged affair as he would know how badly it would hurt and humiliate her, especially after what happened to his mother.

GlitchStitch · 13/01/2020 11:41

I love how they keep being described as a 'young couple' too, just to highlight their vulnerability. They are both nearly middle aged! Hardly 19 year old Diana with no life experience.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 11:42

She is 6 years younger than me and I have grown up children, I am not “young” I am middle aged Grin

lilmishap · 13/01/2020 11:44

Apparently a statement from W and H twitter.com/scobie/status/1216686352143699968

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 11:44

Giles may have deleted because he knew about the affair, but had no proof.
I have known various people over the years were having affairs, but I had no evidence that would stand up in court.

Wherearemyminions · 13/01/2020 11:48

I wonder if there's a generational thing in how people feel about this? Like a PP, was listening to The phone in on Womans Hour and got me wondering. I am late 40s and tbh just don't have much time for the insta style navel gazing that is so prevalent, and MM to me seems to be very much in that mould.

The more life experience I have the more I recognise that sometimes shit happens, and sometimes to have to compromise, but above all you learn to pick your battles, and this sometimes feels a stark contrast to the "Look at me, it's all about me" that Social Media thrives on.

ajandjjmum · 13/01/2020 11:49

I hope that Harry and William got together for a pint last night. Or that HM and Philip invited Harry over to theirs for supper.

Mominatrix · 13/01/2020 11:51

@karencantobe , you seem to bore obsessed with William having an affair? I could not care less and I don't believe/disbeleive it - it has no bearing on the discussion and is simply tittle-tattle. You, however, seem to be frothing over this and keep inserting this into irrelevant discussions - you need help.

annielouise · 13/01/2020 11:52

TheMustressMhor - I did the same, had to check twice in case I was wrong. There's one where she might be touching her stomach. Most photos her hands are nowhere near her stomach or she's holding her clutchbag or clasping her hands under her bump. She's not cradling her bump in any of them in the same exaggerated way the DoS did.

Alltheprettyseahorses did you post the wrong links?

The DoC has touched her bump while working, as I commented on in another post/thread, but nowhere near to the extent of the DoS or in such an Instragrammable posed way - as per the celebrity links others posted. This top and bottom posing is a craze just like the hands making a heart shape, the duck face lips etc.

The DoS was on a stage alone working for the RF doing her top and bottom exaggerated cradling, making it all about her when working (British Fashion Awards). It's attention seeking. It's posed and unnatural. It's what lots of celebs do as it looks good in their eyes. Meghan is the queen of exaggerated poses - the doe eyes to look innocent, the gazing up in adoration of 'H', the cute giggle behind her hand, the exaggerated graceful walk (Charles' 70th birthday as they leave), the bizarre and unnatural rubbing of Archie's head, the limpet-like hugging of her friends while posing for the camera. She's an actress, and therefore comes over as fake, especially to a lot of British people. Of course I'm being racist here for highlighting how much of a phoney she is.

Mominatrix · 13/01/2020 11:53

SOrry, I seed that Oxford is also strangely obsessed with said rumoured affair too. Ditto the comment to you too.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 11:53

Grin No I am not frothing about it at all. I don't care, although I do feel a bit sorry for any woman whose husband has an affair.
I dislike the vitriol aimed at Meghan by people concocting reasons to hate her. I felt the same when vitriol was being aimed at Kate.

MorningCalm · 13/01/2020 11:54

I'm sure there must have been a better way to step back as royal seniors. The way that it is being handled is utter disappointment.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 11:55

@annielouise Did you also criticise Diana for doing many of those things too?

notmoresheep · 13/01/2020 11:55

its the people of Sussex I feel sorry for. Without their Duke & Duchess they will be defenceless against the might of Kent, Surrey and Hampshire.

MurrayTheMonk · 13/01/2020 11:56

That made me laugh notmoresheep

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 11:58

If this really was about privacy they wouldn’t have made sure that it dominated the press/internet.

TheMustressMhor · 13/01/2020 11:59

MrsBrentford makes an unassailable point with regard to privacy.

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 13/01/2020 12:02

Unpopular opinion here but I didn’t really get the craze about Princess Diana. I found her quite manipulative. runs away

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:03

Look Harry and Meghan want to move abroad. He is not an heir. All that needs to be sorted out is issues around titles, money and any engagements, and what kind of work they will be allowed to do. Those matter greatly to the RF in terms of its continuation and not tarnishing the monarchy.

Whether Meghan cradled her baby bump, or Philip and the Queen were welcoming or frosty, or who may have leaked stories to the press - ultimately all that only matters to the people involved.

MrsBrentford · 13/01/2020 12:04

It’s encouraging that they brothers have released a joint statement about the bullying though?

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:04

@Tomselleckhaskindeyes I agree Diana was manipulative. But often those slating Meghan saying she is "acting", loved Diana. Diana played up the cameras all the time.

karencantobe · 13/01/2020 12:05

@MrsBrentford Why is it encouraging? You do know these will be written by staff.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 13/01/2020 12:06

Notmoresheep I live in Sussex and most of us wonder why they were given the title for Sussex as
1 there is no royal estates in Sussex
2 they don’t live in Sussex, nor did they ever intend to and neither has any links to Sussex
3 they visited Brighton once. Sussex is a large place and consists of a lot more than one seaside town.

Sits back and awaits the invasion of the the mighty force of Kent, Surrey and hampshire😂
