I’m incredibly sick of the society we’re living in. It’s bleak and horrible. When you hear about the millions of children in poverty and over 130000 people who have died as a result of austerity it makes me so sad.

My dh and I are working 4 jobs between us just to be able to save up for a house, whereas my elder siblings managed to buy in the 90’s when everything was cheaper with tiny deposits. No matter how we save, house prices keep rising and our “25%” deposit figure keeps getting bigger.

I feel deflated and feel like there’s no hope. Liars and cheats are the winners in this world. Hard working people get nothing. I’m probably feeling over emotional but the thought of another 5 years of tories fills me with terror.

You should feel more terrified at the thought of Labour getting back in.

YANBU because all the options are grim. I genuinely don’t know who to vote for because the Tories are awful and Labour are awful. I’m in a swing seat too- LibDem are nowhere here. It’s rubbish.

Lazypuppy · 24/11/2019 21:27

Aim for a smaller deposit? Did you see the interest ratesin the 90's??

And i agree with @CoastalWave

curlykaren · 24/11/2019 21:28

I understand totally OP, I was crying in front of my Mum and son when the last leadership debate was on. I really feel the tide is turning, Boris came off so poorly but no one seems to care that he's a morally bankrupt liar. Feeling hopeful upset me as I know I'll be just devastated if the conservatives get in again.

Abc123def · 24/11/2019 21:29

I’ll be voting labour, as they have a strong hold where we are over the Cons and Lib Dem’s. I didn’t vote Labour in 2010 because I was still angry about the Iraq war. But I’ve had to forgive that now and move on.

Yanbu at all! Its utterly depressing that we are more than likely facing 5 years more of the same

Abc123def · 24/11/2019 21:32

Interest rates may have been high, but people got on the housing ladder. Then Labour’s buy to let made my siblings millionaires. I was born in the wrong time and have missed out of all the opportunities afforded to them. Including tuition fees.

It’s shit really. I’m jealous of my siblings. What a shit world.

Both major parties are run by self serving untrustworthy lying bastards. They offer two extreme and desperately awful governments.
Ordinary people are stuffed.

HRH2020 · 24/11/2019 21:40

YANBU I feel a terrible sense of doom

StillNoEyeDeer · 24/11/2019 21:40

YANBU.

How anyone can back a government that has willingly put hundreds of thousands of children into poverty is beyond me. I really don't know how they sleep at night.

Despite the fact Labour's manifesto is fully costed, they would rather listen to the right wing press spread lies and hate about it.

I will 100% be voting Labour but we are making plans to leave the country as soon as we can afford to.

TheSultanofPingu · 24/11/2019 21:46

YANBU
We are heading for another four years of Tory government coupled with Brexit. I have to admit, the Labour party aren't doing themselves any favours with their ever increasing giveaways. Part of me thinks that they don't want to win the election and inherit the shit that the Tories have caused.

And my god, it annoys me when people come on here and belittle people's genuine worries.

ssd · 24/11/2019 21:54

You can tell the tory voters on this thread by their brittle answers. Stand up coastal wave and lazy puppy!! God help you both if life ever doesn't go your way.

Yanbu at all op. I bought a flat in 1992 with no deposit, 100% mortgage and a hand written letter from my boss lying about my earnings, no other proof of income needed. Its bloody unfair and wrong what's happening now.
I'm in Scotland, our only hope is independence up here, anything to get away from the bastard tories.

Lazypuppy · 24/11/2019 22:08

@Abc123def I was born in the wrong time and have missed out of all the opportunities afforded to them. Including tuition fees.

When were you born? I was born in the 90's and haven't 'missed out on the opportunities' you mention.

@ssd 🙋‍♀️ yep i will be voting Tories as Jeremy Corbyn terrifies me, and i want brexit to be done.

StillNoEyeDeer · 24/11/2019 22:11

@lazypuppy what is it about Jeremy Corbyn that terrifies you?

ssd · 24/11/2019 22:14

Quelle surprize

I feel sick at the idea that we are plunging ourselves into a recession. I have no idea why anyone who has seen the impact of the last 9 years of Tory government would believe the public spending promises of the Tories and a recession will be the perfect excuse not to spend.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 24/11/2019 22:16

Voting Tory is skeg sabotage.

If you value the NHS... Don't vote Tory.

DonkeyHotty · 24/11/2019 22:17

😂 at ‘get Brexit done’. You have no idea.

Lazypuppy · 24/11/2019 22:17

@StillNoEyeDeer he doesn't seem to care about national security, hates the Defence Industry and Nuclear deterrants. He's misogynistic, and won't make his view known on Brexit.

I don't trust him

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 24/11/2019 22:18

"Getting Brexit done....".... This is just a meme...
The reality?? Billions of future costs to be in a worst position
And the domestic political agenda sidelined for another decade

DonkeyHotty · 24/11/2019 22:18

Hmm and Boris isn’t mysoginistic at all 🤔

Abc123def · 24/11/2019 22:20

he doesn't seem to care about national security, hates the Defence Industry and Nuclear deterrants. He's misogynistic, and won't make his view known on Brexit.

Fucking hell. Misogynistic?! The man who’s just announced he’ll be helping the WASPIs, when Boris announced live on tv he can’t do shit all for them?! Boris isn’t misogynistic?

He’s made his view on Brexit clear: he’s remaining neutral so he can take the country forward. He’s made an adult’s decision. The tories can’t seem to understand this behaviour, because they’re childish idiots.

Don’t be too worried - with hard work and a little luck we can keep the hard-left cult out of power! Grin
