Putting Christmas tree up today?

Opinions... Usually do it on the 1st but next weekend is a busy one. Don’t have time during the week... so thinking today or tomorrow.

Partner thinks I’m mad. Also his mum is popping over this weekend and I know she’ll offer her opinion like she does in everything but myself and DC have been poorly all week. So surely this is a good way to cheer us all up??

Nope too soon. Do it the week after. It’ll only get dusty and sad looking by christmas

I’m doing mine the about the 10th otherwise it feels too early and I get annoyed with it. Growing up it went up on Christmas Eve!

Too early (I love Xmas) but wait til December

We where going to do the same but MIL is deciding if she wants to have decide if she wants her old sofa back (just got a new one) so we have an extra sofa taking up the space for the tree.

Otherwise it will be a rush next Sunday as we are really busy every weekend up to Christmas.

If it rocks your boat then do it. It isn't for me. If we had our tree up now I would be wanting rid of it after a couple of weeks. I prefer to keep Christmas at Christmas. DD will put our tree up when she comes home from university.

Too early - we usually do it about 15th or so too- don’t buy mince pies until the 1st etc as otherwise Christmas isn’t special

Ours is going up this weekend. Slightly earlier than I usually like but I think it’s fine.

I know people who have had theirs up for a couple of weeks now.

Advent Sunday is 29 November this year.

I think decorating before then is too soon.

Way too early. If you take it down on 6/1 that’s a long time. You will have to dust the baubles. 😂

I couldn't be doing with it. We do the 12 days before and 12 days after but in reality I usually get fed up before New Year and take it down.
I also think putting it up earlier just riles up the kids and they are hyper enough with all the other Christmas stuff going on.

Go for it. I contemplated doing it today. Its basically a month til Christmas now. I decided not to as I'm too tired and have a cruising DC so the placement needs some careful thought! Otherwise I probably would.

Way to early. It seems the norm to have them up in November. Your house will feel cluttered for long enough. Why not out up fairy lights or light candles for a cosy effect.

Advent starts December 1st this year. We don’t put ours up until the middle of December but other decorations go up on the first day of Advent.

I’m doing ours today - for the same reasons as you - busy next weekend. Stick some Christmas songs on, put your tree up and enjoy every second (and have a little bet with yourself on how long it take MIL to say “it’s too early”

Far too early. Ours will be going up on 6 December and even that feels a bit much for me - would usually do the following weekend but we’re busy.
