‘Inspirational’ quotes that you actually quite like?

I’m sure there was a thread about this not too long ago but I can’t find it.

A lot of the ‘inspirational’ quotes I see I think are fairly awful, but I came across this one the other day that I did like:

‘Be the star of your own story.’

So, AIBU to say there are some quite nice inspirational quotes or are they all a load of rubbish?!

I like the one that says something along the lines of "remember when all you wanted were the things you have now" - it's quite nice I think!

Not really inspirational as such but it's a good life lesson

“Be scared and do it anyway”

I think so many people don’t do stuff in life because they are scared of change and our time on Earth can end anytime, I come from a family where lots of family members have died young. So if I want to do something I do it no matter how scary, if I die tomorrow I want to know I done what i wanted.

I also like “Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women” It’s actually written on my bedroom mirror, I love it.

I like "if you never try, you'll never know".

"Don't take to heart criticism from someone you'd never go to for advice"

Oh there are some lovely ones here! Especially the one about being never being too important to be nice to people, so true.

My favourite is 'If you can't get out of it, get into it.' In other words if there are tasks you can't get out of doing (e.g. housework), you might as well find a way of making them more enjoyable and changing your attitude to them. Not always easy to do, but a good aim.

It really resonates with me - and is so true! I think having turned 40 I’ve worried less about ‘failing’ or what people think of me and it’s been liberating but means I’ve done some terrifying but exhilarating things.

I know many think, "It's not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain," unbearably cheesy, but it just happens to fit my circumstances perfectly :)
