I’m sure there was a thread about this not too long ago but I can’t find it.

A lot of the ‘inspirational’ quotes I see I think are fairly awful, but I came across this one the other day that I did like:

‘Be the star of your own story.’

So, AIBU to say there are some quite nice inspirational quotes or are they all a load of rubbish?!

Don't be a worrier, be a warrior.

I try, sometimes it works.

Love all; trust a few; do wrong to none.

To thine own self be true.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

And one possibly very slightly misquoted from Dante but very apt for today:

The hottest part of Hell is reserved for those, in times of moral conflict, who choose to sit on the fence.

Oh, I'm sorry, but I absolutely hate that Winnie the Pooh one. It's not in the original stories, just the Disney version (I suppose that's where it's from anyway, never seen it).

All my inspirational quotes come from Buffy:

"in the end, you're always by yourself. You're all you've got. That's the point."

"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em comin', you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does.
So, what are we? Helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."

Worrying means you suffer twice.

I like it. I’m a worrier, stress about things that might not happen. This resonates with me!

Start by doing 1 push up. Start by drinking 1 cup of water. Start by paying toward 1 debt. Start by reading 1 page. Start by making 1 sale. Start by deleting 1 old contact. Start by walking 1 lap. Start by attending 1 event.

Start today. Repeat tomorrow

I think often feel so overwhelmed, anxiety kicks in and I End up doing nothing and feeling bad about it.

And sill, I rise.

And paraphrasing the same author

People won't remember what you said, and they won't remember what you did, but they'll always remember how you made them feel.

Comparison is the thief of joy

what someone else thinks of me is none of my business is also one that I repeat to myself. Particularly recently when I'm the bad guy in someone's story as mentioned upthread.

'I love you more than my own skin and even though you don't love me the same way, you love me anyways, don't you? And if you don't, I'll always have the hope that you do, and I'm satisfied with that. Love me a little. I adore you.' - Frida Kahlo.

This quite is forming part of my wedding vows.
