Trans issue at work

I work with someone that is a trans activist and while i support their right to identify as they wish, I don't subscribe to the philosophy that you should be able
to change your biological sex on your birth certificate or that gender stereotypes define who you are as a person.

I really like this person, but i struggle with their outspoken views e.g. that transwomen should participate in women's sport and to say otherwise is hateful, that some women have penises, that she is a lesbian (they are a transwoman in a relationship with a biological woman) and trying to get us to add pro nouns to our emails.

I haven't said anything and I do like her, but I am struggling with these outspoken views so at odds with my own beliefs (and common sense!). I don't want to add sodding pro nouns to my email!!

Is there any way of politely refuting any of this stuff or do I have to sit and smile and nod along

I'd guess a very tiny number of people will change their purchasing habits either way tbh.

I also don’t think this is true. Many people make gender critical statements all the time. I’ll say it again. I don’t think transwomen are women. But I can generally be polite when I say it. I doubt this will be deleted.

This is what I don't get. Nature has designed 'sex' as the process for procreation in larger animals. Procreation requires one of each sex. Where do additional sexes fit into this?

Gender, which is different from sex, is a social construct that used to reflect the different ways society regarded people of different sexes.
These days, some societies have accepted that while this is still generally the case, some people can choose to be a different gender to their sex.

Or am I missing something?

I was also deleted for saying a transwoman was a he (this comment might go too but I'm not up for having my speech forced, oh well!). Science and biology seem to no longer apply.
The comments on the thread were nothing compared to the response from @MNHQ to be honest!
