To re-heat 4 day old takeaway?

I'd just like a quick poll on whether IABU or not because I really fancy popping the leftover Chinese food in the oven that we ordered on Friday. I normally have a cast iron stomach so I'd have no problem but DH is less keen.
Opinions welcome Smile

No, I wouldn't.

jgjgjgjgjg · 08/10/2019 19:55

I would and have. Unless it has seafood in it. Just reheat thoroughly.

LoseLooseLucy · 08/10/2019 19:56

Good God no! I definitely wouldn't 😷

Cleverplayonwords · 08/10/2019 19:56

That's really vile. 😷

Winterfellismyhome · 08/10/2019 19:56

Not 4 days old 🤢

Jeds55 · 08/10/2019 19:57

YABU. I wouldn't, way too old for me

MustardScreams · 08/10/2019 19:57

Would you eat 4 day old lasagne or similar? I probably would, but I have very little regard for guidelines, and only chuck stuff if it’s visibly mouldy or stinks. Never had food poisoning,

MissBPotter · 08/10/2019 19:57

No definitely not! 4 days is way too long!

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 08/10/2019 19:57

I'd be tempted, in a pot to a really high heat all the way through. But I am more likely to have put in the freezer the night I bought it so it definitely keeps.

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 08/10/2019 19:58

Actually just making rice to go with the sweet and sour in my freezer as we speak!

Rystall · 08/10/2019 19:58

Oh dear Lord no. I reheat everything but a 4 day old takeaway is asking for trouble

leghairdontcare · 08/10/2019 19:59

That's probably too old and i'm usually pretty blase about this kind of thing. What is it? I doubt it'll be that nice, even if it doesn't make you ill.

Rystall · 08/10/2019 19:59

The takeaway was probably reheated at least once if not twice before you collected it.

MissMudskipper · 08/10/2019 20:00

Bin it and order a fresh Chinese if you want one that much!

vikkimoog · 08/10/2019 20:01

I would, just reheat it till really really hot. it'll be fine

Frenchfancy · 08/10/2019 20:01

I'm very blasé about this sort of thing, I regularly eat food that has been left out overnight but I would draw the line at this.

Purplepeonies · 08/10/2019 20:02

What is it OP?

PerpendicularVincent · 08/10/2019 20:02

Uugh, no. You'll be shitting through the eye of a needle.

june2007 · 08/10/2019 20:02

I have done and yes I have been fine.

nervousfirsttimer1985 · 08/10/2019 20:03

No not at 4 days old. My DP would draw the line at that long and this is someone who doesn't like to store cooked chicken in the fridge Confused

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 08/10/2019 20:03

I would eat 4 day old leftovers that I had cooked myself, as I know they've been stored properly, not left out in the warm for ages etc.

Do you happen to know the food hygiene rating of the takeaway?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 08/10/2019 20:03

Nope

PablosHoney · 08/10/2019 20:03

Has it been in the fridge, if it’s rice or noodles I wouldn’t as they can make you really ill

Wheninfrome · 08/10/2019 20:04

Yep it does contain prawns as well as pork/beef/chicken and I did fridge it as soon as we'd had our fill. Wouldn't normally leave it this long but have been away for a long weekend and got back and it's sat there winking at me every time I go to the fridge for wine

No, not after four days. Two days (as in 48 hours after we've had it delivered) is my limit.
