To re-heat 4 day old takeaway?

I'd just like a quick poll on whether IABU or not because I really fancy popping the leftover Chinese food in the oven that we ordered on Friday. I normally have a cast iron stomach so I'd have no problem but DH is less keen.
Opinions welcome Smile

Good luck OP.

It was nice knowing you.

Silvercatowner · 08/10/2019 21:18

That's seriously grim. You'll probably be OK, but if you aren't, it will be so awful that you will feel turned inside out. I really don't get the 'I'm hard core I'll eat anything' - anyone who has had food poisoning is not going to say that. Why risk it?

LadyAndiBella · 08/10/2019 21:19

Honestly op don't touch it. My dp has horrible food poisoning a few years back where we had to call out the first responders. He was on anti sickness medicine for a few days and had mild jaundice too. His stomach felt like it was going to burst at one point. He also had hot flushes and lots of sweating and was seriously weak. This all lasted about 2 weeks and the doc reported the food poisoning to the local authority.

agododopushpineapple · 08/10/2019 21:21

So come on OP, how did it taste?

IsobelRae23 · 08/10/2019 21:21

Not after 4 days and with seafood in🙈🙈

minniemoll · 08/10/2019 21:22

I've reheated takeaway after six days with no ill effects whatsoever....

Notsure1978 · 08/10/2019 21:23

I’ve been known to eat a curry 2 days later without even reheating it. Good luck

MadameForest · 08/10/2019 21:24

Rice is the worst for food poisoning but if you refrigerated everything asap I don't know what the problem is. I'd eat it. Hate waste and am never ill.

Millie2013 · 08/10/2019 21:25

Having worked in a microbiology lab, no fricking way 🙈

Schuyler · 08/10/2019 21:25

I hope you live, OP. If not, I hope it was a damn good takeaway.

mnthrowaway2099 · 08/10/2019 21:28

Tbh I know 4 day old takeaway is gross and I wouldn’t consider it now, but this is something my flatmates and I would have probably done in our uni student broke days & we never got ill!

raspberryk · 08/10/2019 21:30

I would deffo eat it, maybe cold if it has seafood in or hot otherwise. I usually go by the 3, 5 or 7 days rule depending on what food it is. TBH I lose track of the days so I probably just have an iron stomach. I don't ever get ill. As long as it was refrigerated it'll be fine.

kateandme · 08/10/2019 21:31

I'd say it's on the cusp.but my dad does this all the time.

VioletR · 08/10/2019 21:31

Eww I have a 2 day limit max.

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2019 21:31

This is a terrible idea due to the rice, which is one of the worst causes of food poisoning. You should not be eating this.

20viona · 08/10/2019 21:32

Vile

MrsFezziwig · 08/10/2019 21:39

No point in asking me, I just ate a 3 day old cod in batter from the chippie (cold, so no reheating issues) Blush

Wallabyone · 08/10/2019 21:39

Are you there OP? I'm worried about instantaneous vomiting, diahorrea and/or death Shock

SKMCR · 08/10/2019 21:42

This is a gripping post. Waiting to see if op has the shits.

CilantroChili · 08/10/2019 21:42

4 day old leftovers winking at you from the fridge!! 🤣

I hope your bottom isn’t winking at your toilet later 🤢 🚽 🥴

Wheninfrome · 08/10/2019 21:42

Well it was very tasty- just as nice as Friday but I put loads of soy sauce on mine. Sipping my glass of Sauvignon and watching GBBO that I recorded earlier (no spoilers please) Perfect Smile

Why do you still have 4 day old take away food. We do reheat the next day but I wouldnt wait any longer. I think you may risk getting poorly.

LoseLooseLucy · 08/10/2019 21:45

You're gonna shit the bed OP 😬

fishonabicycle · 08/10/2019 21:46

Yeah. As long as it had been in the fridge.

Wheninfrome · 08/10/2019 21:49

@Magicmama92 you stand guilty of NRTFT I've already explained why the take oot wasn't eaten earlier
