To think there's a link between climate change denial and Leave voters?

Listening to Nigel Farage 'climate scepticism ' on the radio last night and all his fans agreeing with him. I think Nigel Farage has also said the doctors are wrong about smoking. Baffling why anyone would take his view seriously. Anyway, every climate change denier I've heard of is also a Leaver. AIBU to think they're connected?

Leave voters also kill kittens and eat puppies.

I’d say there is a broad correlation yes. Age profile, education profile, attitude to ‘experts’ would be broadly similar.

How would you know? I don't think I've ever filled out a form asking my opinion on both the EU and climate change. I don't really see what one has to do with the other.
Fed up of leavers being demonised tbh - I'm sure there are remain voters out there who either deny or couldn't give a shit about climate change, who are racist ( wanting to remain in the EU does not mean incapable of bring racist ) and generally not nice people. Remain does not = morally superior!

If you read the comments beneath Telegraph articles, I bet you’ll soon come to the conclusion that the average Telegraph reader is a sexist older male (or weirdly, a sexist older woman), who hates the EU, thinks climate change is nothing to do with human activity, despises most young people and thinks the Tories aren’t right-wing enough. Needless to say, Donald Trump is much admired and no one can bear to say a good word about Greta Thunberg.

If I remember rightly, the Daily Mail and the Express also promote pro-Brexit and climate denier views, but I don’t want to read them again to double-check.

My mum's friend is a leave voter, and discussed with mum last week how climate change is rubbish. She also made some comments on their being "too many dark/black people at [Harry and Meghan's] wedding I've asked mum if her friend is a flat earther too but mum doesn't like to ask these things. I'd have ended the friendship at the racist comment last year on the wedding day but mum hasn't the boundaries as me. She doesn't like to rock the boat; I crate tempests

The only people I know who are climate change deniers are also Leavers. There are quite a few famous Leavers/climate change deniers as well. Nigel Farage, Ann Widdecombe, Nigel Lawson etc. I guess both groups don't believe experts and that drives their opinion forming.

Incidentally, I do know one flat earther. Genuinely believes the earth is flat. She's also a vocal Leaver and anti vaxer, don't know her veiws on climate change.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that there was a correlation between the two.

There is certainly an anecdotal correlation. No idea whether it could be backed up by data.

Positive correlation in my circle, every time. A small sample, I grant you. None of them are flat earthers (yet) so there's that to hold onto.

I think that all remainers who say things like 'every leaver I know is thick and racist (or climate change deniers) simply need to find better people to know.
