I would really like to hear the views of Boris supporters. I fully understand the anti-Boris arguments.

OP posts:
EmeraldShamrock · 25/07/2019 13:24

Haha I dont think anyone will reply. If you'd ask why they dont support Boris you'd get plenty.
I am so sad for the people of NI. The back stop being abolished, his attitude stinks, the knock on effect for country's around the UK.
I dont think the UK will ever be forgiven for the torment it is going to cause in Ireland, any good relationship that was worked out will be dead in the water.

ginghambox · 25/07/2019 13:28

You are not remotely interested in any reasons, just being goady so the momentum bots can pile in.

Figmentofmyimagination · 25/07/2019 13:29

I met one yesterday. The first and only one. She said this was a great day that she’d been waiting for for three years because finally they were going to ‘get brexit done’ and ‘get us out’. Also, here was someone who could defeat corbyn and avoid us going ‘back to the 70s’).

YouTheCat · 25/07/2019 13:29

Come on then, Gingham, why is Boris a good choice for PM?

ginghambox · 25/07/2019 13:31

I didn't say he was a good choice.

Zippyx · 25/07/2019 13:33

Don't make stupid assumptions and answer the fucking question then. @ginghambox

Very interested too so keeping an eye. 👀

EmeraldShamrock · 25/07/2019 13:34

He obviously has lots of secret supporters.
I understand he has a job to do, he needs to do the job also show some respect for previous PMs hard work in NI.

MyFokMarelize · 25/07/2019 13:34

My 85 year old father thinks it's a wonderful thing. Unfortunately his grip on reality is based firmly in the Post-War years.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 25/07/2019 13:40

You are not remotely interested in any reasons, just being goady so the momentum bots can pile in.

Come on then, money where your mouth is; give us five reasons he's good for the UK and not the antichrist dickwad I believe he is.

TheBigBallOfOil · 25/07/2019 13:44

He’s the best answer to the tories’ short term political problem (the Brexit party) but probably the worst answer to their long term political problems(Brexit, aging voter base).
That’s the best I can do. Hell, I didn’t vote for the guy.

Jaheira · 25/07/2019 13:45

He's a brexiteer.

If he comes back from Europe saying "this is the best deal we're going to get" the brexiteer's will believe him - rather than May who frankly didnt't want us to leave in the first place.

We've had years of boring - the one thing we can say is BJ as PM will not be boring.

Cards on the table - I'm a Tory, voted labour once in 1997 aged 21 and regretted it ever since. Will never vote labour again.

EmeraldShamrock · 25/07/2019 13:47

He wont be boring No.
He will be reckless and all current sympathy from other EU leaders will be lost.

HermioneWeasley · 25/07/2019 13:48

The people I know who wanted him, it was because they think he’s the best bet for keeping Jeremy Corbyn out. That’s how afraid middle England is of JC.

VictoriaBites · 25/07/2019 13:52

As others have said, people I know who support him (I’m not one of them and not a Tory voter) say it’s ABC - Anyone But Corbyn

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 13:52

Because the conservative party voted him in after Theresa May resigned.

He'll be good, because if he and his mad cabinet can't get brexit done it will be kicked into the long grass. He also has surreounded himself with supporters unlike May.

I'd rather he wasnt PM and the cabinet looks terrifying, but we couldn't have gone on the way we were.

He's intelligent, unlike many politicians cough Jeremy Corbyn cough

BlackCatSleeping · 25/07/2019 13:53

Because the whole thing is a circus. So, you may as well have a clown in charge. We've tried the sensible approach. Maybe it's time for the lunatic approach?

MyFokMarelize · 25/07/2019 13:54

I refer the Honourable Members to this just in from the always excellent Jonathan Pie

Nesssie · 25/07/2019 13:54

You are not remotely interested in any reasons, just being goady so the momentum bots can pile in. This. Same with the brexit threads.

But I think its mostly to do with the fact he will actually finally deliver Brexit.

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 13:54

Theresa May tried the sensible and pragmatic approach and no-one had a good word to say about her.

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 13:56

The older people in my village aren't remotely threatened by Corbyn, they think hes a joke. They want Brexit done though

I'm basing this on the six or seven old people i talk to regularly so not a huge group !

SilverySurfer · 25/07/2019 13:57

I didn't vote for him and agree with ginghambox that you are just asking so you can have a good sneer.

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 13:57

Yes, I'm trying to answer in a straightforward fashion but fully expect a frothing pile on.

Zippyx · 25/07/2019 13:59

People saying he's intelligent...

The man can't answer a question straight. He'll just stutter and come up with complete bullshit, which the unintelligent Brexiteers eat for dinner.

Reporter: "Boris, why do you think Theresa May couldn't do it?"
Boris: "Because I think it's a great opportunity and we should get it over and done with quickly!"

Yes. That actually happened. Not the first time and definitely not the last.

Fibbke · 25/07/2019 14:00

He might not reel off a load of carefully researched woke soundbites, no. But i think people are sick of that.

user1491678180 · 25/07/2019 14:01

@Chocolatehat

As a few posters said, no matter WHAT anyone says, the frothing lefties will poo-poo it, and mock and jeer and goad as they always do.

This has clearly only been posted to start a war of words on here. And you know it.

So crack on with your hate and vitriol. You'll get fuck all response or reaction from me. And if anyone who is OK with Boris has any sense, they also not give you what you want.

As you were. Wink
