Madge is on graham Norton. She literally can’t move her face and can barely open her mouth she’s had so much surgery. It seems to have affected her speech it’s so bad.
She’s always been so great but it’s all so disappointing that she has fucked with her face so much.

Yes

Samcro · 14/06/2019 23:32

i saw her on something earlier.......she doesn't look human now

BistoBear · 14/06/2019 23:34

What’s with the eyepatch? I wasn’t listening so I’m not sure if she mentioned it...

Stripyseagulls · 14/06/2019 23:34

She was my idol as a child and I saw her at Wembley in 1990 in her blond ambition tour- she was amazing. Why mess with your looks so much?

elasticfantastic · 14/06/2019 23:35

She couldn't sit down in that corset with her boobs under her chin! Surely she knew she'd be sitting on a sofa when she agreed to do a chat show!

She's become a parody of herself! It's a shame because she is such an icon and does have interesting things to say, but the way she portrays herself and comes across takes away from her thoughts.

I went to chime for change concert a few years ago and she spent 10 minutes shouting at the to "listen to me!" She got booed pretty bad. I actually like her new music but the videos are cringe.

Stripyseagulls · 14/06/2019 23:35

@BistoBear the eye it’s covering looks really wrong tbh

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/06/2019 23:35

Her boobs arrived on stage a few minutes before she did. Not a good look.

Stripyseagulls · 14/06/2019 23:36

@elasticfantastic she also seemed quite doddery and unstable on Graham Norton

VladmirsPoutine · 14/06/2019 23:37

Yes. It's her face and she can do what she wants with it. All that said, it is an indictment more of society's attitude to ageing women; or indeed women in general. It was indeed quite the contrast between her and Ian McKellen who's also had an extensive and successful career. Whilst he seems 'accomplished' - it's as though she's eager to retain what she once was. Sad all round tbh.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/06/2019 23:38

Madonna is bonkers but still amazing. Genius people are frequently unstable; it is what it is.

Stripyseagulls · 14/06/2019 23:38

But @VladmirsPoutine she’s the most iconic and successful female pop stars of all time. She literally has nothing to prove & the fact she feels she does is sad.

scratchyfluffface · 14/06/2019 23:40

Awful, the eye patch, the odd slurry British accent - she is amazing but she definitely seems to have become a parody of herself, and did not come across that well

Ploppymoodypants · 14/06/2019 23:40

I was impressed with Himesh Patel. He looked her straight in the eyes as he said hello and shook her hand. Danny Boyle was eye balling her boobs the whole time!
Mind you so was I, you couldn’t miss them !
I love Madonna, but she seemed really anxious and uncomfortable. The outfit was a bad choice. Shame, as I too, think she has some interesting things to say.

Ploppymoodypants · 14/06/2019 23:42

I picked up on the fact she didn’t like Graham Norton’s reference to being an old fan. She said ‘ I’m not old’ !

Kpo58 · 14/06/2019 23:42

Why is Madonna still popular? She hasn't sung well for years. She massacred the Evita film sound track.

HollowTalk · 14/06/2019 23:44

She looked much older than she was, just by trying to look much younger. She seems really unpleasant, too, which doesn't help her!

BeardedMum · 14/06/2019 23:46

I nearly turned off. Awkward!

itwaseverthus · 14/06/2019 23:48

Christ, what's amazing about her? Certainly not her voice, or personality. Everyone was on edge for fear of upsetting the goddess. Pathetic.

IfNot · 14/06/2019 23:49

Did she hell look older than 60!
I like her. The corset was a mistake but I think she's just really dry and playing a part. At the end she did a big grin when it was all over, like it was all an act.

HollowTalk · 14/06/2019 23:51

Her face didn't look older than 60 but her neck and chest shoved into that corset did.

scratchyfluffface · 14/06/2019 23:51

Christ, what's amazing about her? Certainly not her voice, or personality.

Ok, to clarify she has had an undeniably amazing career (regardless of personal taste etc)

SinglePringle · 14/06/2019 23:53

You know what, she’s fucking MADONNA! The last female pop icon / superstar who personally managed her career and gave zero fucks what the establishment thought of her. No pop puppet she.

She took her limited singing talent, great street dance talent, amazing ability to keep up to date with interesting musicians and strata-strophic star quality and made us all watch. For decades.

She could walk on in a bikini crossed with a beekeepers suit and she’d still be cooler than any one of us on here.

I do not want the last Superstar to grow old gracefully.

She fucking rocks.

Lamentations · 14/06/2019 23:53

There's context behind the age comment (the NYT article that did little else but bang on about her age) and it was a tongue in cheek poke at that I think.

She is a legend. She will always be relevant.

HarleyS · 14/06/2019 23:53

She looks good for 60.
I wish I had her boobs.

VladmirsPoutine · 14/06/2019 23:53

She literally has nothing to prove & the fact she feels she does is sad.

I entirely agree. But my point is more that it is not her 'fault' as it were. She unfortunately has succumb to the ridiculous standards women are held to. If she couldn't reject these notions then what hope is there for women in general. This is not a new phenomenon - in any area of life. One of my female directors repeatedly gets called a bossy bitch. But her conduct is no different from the male directors.
