To think ‘oh no madonna’

Madge is on graham Norton. She literally can’t move her face and can barely open her mouth she’s had so much surgery. It seems to have affected her speech it’s so bad.
She’s always been so great but it’s all so disappointing that she has fucked with her face so much.

Genius people are frequently unstable

But I know a totally stable genius.

Patroclus · 15/06/2019 09:58

I think shes just a bit sarcastic in her nature and people panic.

longwayoff · 15/06/2019 10:01

Didn't see it but from the pics she's beginning to resemble the remarkable latterday Mae West.

SeasideSoul · 15/06/2019 10:03

She looks fabulous. She's doing what Madonna has always done. Being Madonna.

Start a thread about Rod Stewart being too old for leather pants. Geez put it away Rod, you're over 60, go sit quietly in a corner. Oh wait, he's a man, it's ok to carry on a music career after 50 when you're a man.

Patroclus · 15/06/2019 10:09

Will and Grace's Madonna story on Graham Norton was good.

Towelsareblue · 15/06/2019 10:12

I absolutely wouldn't say she should grow older in a different way but at least make sure the outfit fits and you can breathe in it....

I can't quote a MN thread, but I have read this sort of thing about RS, Mick Jagger, Tom Jones etc quite a lot.

redspider1 · 15/06/2019 10:19

Stupid outfit. At first I thought she was dressed like that for a performance on the show but no. I mean, if you haven't learnt by the age of 61 to dress for the occasion, you never will. She looked ridiculous. Lily James in comparison looked elegant and COMFORTABLE!
Used to love Madonna, but while I have moved on, she hasn't.

HollySniffs · 15/06/2019 10:22

I don't think it's ever been a mantra of hers to 'dress for the occasion'. Why should she change at 61 to satisfy the beige element?

redspider1 · 15/06/2019 10:24

I also thought that given her 2 fingers to society approach, that she would stick them up to cosmetic enhancements. But no, she's no rebel in that respect. Had more admiration for Sheryl Crow who looked fab but real.

redspider1 · 15/06/2019 10:24

Holly you can look edgy/cool/whatever and breath!

redspider1 · 15/06/2019 10:25

breathe

HollySniffs · 15/06/2019 10:31

Well yeah the surgery is another thing. Lots of celebs go OTT with that, male and female. But again her choice. I think it may become hard to judge when your level of fame means you're surrounded by 'yes people' all the time.

So many who you think look great for their age have had subtle work done.

redspider1 · 15/06/2019 10:34

Yes I agree and indeed Sheryl may have had some subtle work. Just a bit disappointed in Madonna. There will come a time she can't fake it and it's not too far away.

Cherrysoup · 15/06/2019 10:37

I am so upset. please understand someone

Puuhlease! She’s just someone famous. Get over it.

Gin96 · 15/06/2019 10:37

Just watching it now, she looks and sounds awful

TrumpALump · 15/06/2019 10:39

She looked so uncomfortable with her boobs under her chin. I like the Graham Norton show because everyone just seem to chat. She didn't. I said to DH she seemed to have an air of self importance about her and didn't really get the 'All sit down and chit chat' thing.
I watched a few carpool karaokes recently. P!nk, Gwen Stefani and the Chilli Peppers were all really cool, but the Madonna one was just awful. She came across badly on that too.

StCharlotte · 15/06/2019 10:40

We turned it off as soon as we saw she was on it. I still haven't forgiven her for the Eurovision debacle.

Shame, she was such a great icon and role model.

Towelsareblue · 15/06/2019 10:42

Holly you realise there is some mid ground between dressing like a twat and beige don't you?

AnnabelleBronstein · 15/06/2019 10:43

What the hell are you all going on about. She looks amazing and she’s fucking Madonna. That aside, stop trying to police the way other women look, for crying out loud.

gamerwidow · 15/06/2019 10:48

She’s still a great icon and role model.
She doesn’t care what’s ‘appropriate’ or ‘tasteful’. She’s says this is how I want to look, get on board or fuck off.

juneau · 15/06/2019 10:49

It's ironic too that today's headline is that she's bleating on at Lourdes to stop being so obsessed with how she looks. How can the poor girl help it, with a DM who's had so much done both aesthetically and surgically?

Madonna is also one for banging the drum about ageism and sexism, which is great, but it rings false when you look at her and see that she's bending to those forces every time she alters herself to supposedly look younger than her 60 years. Some people manage to pull off looking great in their later years through the help of very skilled practitioners, but so many end up looking just plain weird and unnatural. I'm afraid Madonna falls into the latter camp - along with Burt Reynolds, Jocelyn Wildenstein, Meg Ryan, Renee Zellweger, etc.

HollySniffs · 15/06/2019 10:50

Exactly. She could've turned up in a nappy and a balaclava AFAIC.

HollySniffs · 15/06/2019 10:51

@Gamer

Mrscaindingle · 15/06/2019 10:51

I think the outfit was great for performing, for sitting down chatting and trying to look relaxed, not so much.
I never liked her music but have admired her ambition and single mindedness in continually reinventing herself. The main reason I don't warm to her however is her lack of humour, I don't imagine her to be a fun relaxing person to be around.
