To think Hermes need closing down

Think its honestly the worst parcel company in the UK! Had 2 parcels, 1 was suppose to be delivered to a neighbour, 1 through the letter box! They were both put in my bin and weren't there when I got back from a weekend away 🙄

Returned a parcel with Hermes 48 hour on the 26th and the company still haven't received it !! Whats a fuc*ing joke !! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hermes left a parcel in a safe place a couple of years back.. under my dads car. He drove over it reversing out the drive and destroyed it!

More recently they left a parcel at my house under my doormat. It was a huge box. They just plonked the doormat on top. It was rather amusing.. but I agree.. they need some serious training at the very least.

Accountant222 · 08/05/2019 07:45

I agree they are rubbish

Cwtches123 · 08/05/2019 07:47

Must depend on where you live. My local Hermes courier is fantastic, if I'm out he uses our safe place and if I forget to leave it accessible he will deliver to my mum just down the road.

DPD on the other hand..............!!!!

Snufflepiglet · 08/05/2019 07:48

YANBU!

AuntieMarys · 08/05/2019 07:50

I love my Hermes courier!

ThursdayLastWeek · 08/05/2019 07:50

Our local Hermes courier is great too.
DPD is even alright now that they’ve managed to employ one person for longer than a month in our area!

But I do think as business models they make their employees run pretty tight time margins etc and that never ends well.

KittyMcKitty · 08/05/2019 07:51

As Cwtches123 says it depends where you are. My Hermes courier is great- always on time, leaves things in a safe place, gives my dog a cuddle (she adores him). We’ve had the same chap for years and I can’t fault him.

Didntwanttochangemyname · 08/05/2019 07:52

Our Hermes guy is great, not many delivery companies actually deliver to where I live so I'm grateful the Hermes guy does!

calpop · 08/05/2019 07:53

Ive had 4 or 5 times when their system says the parcel is delivered, when Ive been in all day and nobody has so much as set foot on my drive. When I've looked at the signature on the system, its some.made up one that doesnt even spell my name right.

I've asked one of them before, who is reliable, and she says they are given rea6ly unrealistic targets for delivery numbers and harsh monetary penalties if they dont meet them, which is why they lie and make up signatures when they havent made it to your house and why they chuck things all over the place. So the management need sacking as well.

greenlamps · 08/05/2019 07:53

My local Hermes guy is spot on!

finnmcool · 08/05/2019 07:53

My local courier is great, I won't have a word said against her. 😁

RosamundDarnley · 08/05/2019 07:54

Our Hermes couriers are great. (We appear to have 3 who deliver to and collect from us) If we're not in they know our safe place and use that, never had any issues.

elaine26 · 08/05/2019 07:55

My Hermes delivery is a woman and she's really good too. I often see her in other parts of our town and she always waves and smiles and has a chat on the doorstep when she's delivering something here

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 08/05/2019 07:55

Our Hermes delivery guy is terrible. Left a branded Jo Brown's package on my front step, in full view of the pavement and road. Thankfully I was back not long after it was dumped there.

DPD is amazing and I love that you get an hour time slot and can track the van on the wee map. Makes nipping to the shop for lunch a much less stressful task!

ShitAtScarbble · 08/05/2019 07:56

I've used Hermes for eBay sales for years. I was just looking at my account this morning - in the last year I've used them for 286 parcels and every single one has arrived without incident.
The one time I had an issue it was sorted within a week.

lazylinguist · 08/05/2019 07:57

Ours is useless too. Keeps either leaving a card saying my parcel has been left in my shed (I don't have a bloody shed!) or handing it to some neighbour but not leaving a card to say so.

HJWT · 08/05/2019 07:57

I am glad a lot of people don't fault them, I currently have over £100 worth of missing parcels though 🤦🏻‍♀️

peachgreen · 08/05/2019 07:58

It depends on your individual driver I think. Mine is fantastic - she always leaves parcels in a safe place if we're not in and she knows me and my daughter by name - she even bought her a wee Christmas present!

NoParticularPattern · 08/05/2019 08:00

My local one here is great, but previously they’ve been absolutely dreadful! I once had a box containing 6 hanging baskets (so not a small box!!) apparently left on the doorstep. Now the house at the time had three doors into it, one of which had a massive sign saying “PLEASE USE OTHER DOOR

UrsulaPandress · 08/05/2019 08:01

Our Hermes guy is great as he delivers so regularly. And DPD are good to as they send constant updates to my phone.

Amazon on the other hand have reduced me to tears on several occasions.

PJMasksAreOnTheirWay · 08/05/2019 08:02

I got a photo telling me my parcel has been delivered on a door step. Only it wasn’t my door step. 🙄

IceRebel · 08/05/2019 08:03

I much prefer Hermes to Royal Mail. My local courier is friendly, leaves things in my safe place and often delivers in the evenings / Sundays.

OneInEight · 08/05/2019 08:04

I have probably sent over 400 parcels with Hermes so far this year. None have gone missing. Seems pretty good to me.

adaline · 08/05/2019 08:05

It definitely depends on the area.

At my old address, things were always getting lost or weren't delivered or were delayed.

Now they give me an hour slot, always arrive on time and the lady is lovely and very friendly.

Nousernameforme · 08/05/2019 08:08

Our guy is fine bit grumpy but obviously in a rush he knows now that our door is open and just chucks parcels inside which is fine by me as i don't always hear someone at the door.
