To think Hermes need closing down

Think its honestly the worst parcel company in the UK! Had 2 parcels, 1 was suppose to be delivered to a neighbour, 1 through the letter box! They were both put in my bin and weren't there when I got back from a weekend away 🙄

Returned a parcel with Hermes 48 hour on the 26th and the company still haven't received it !! Whats a fuc*ing joke !! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yodel is definitely worse!!

RuskBaby · 08/05/2019 08:10

Definitely depends on where and who delivers. Our Monday - Friday as fab, weekend driver repeatedly doesn’t deliver but says he has Angry out previous address was dreadful worse than yodel!

WouldHAVEcouldHAVEshouldHAVE · 08/05/2019 08:10

They are the shittest of the shit. I arranged for them to collect a parcel and deliver it to me.
They picked up the item and lost it in their warehouse.
I emailed them to ask where it was, they said ‘it’s lost’
‘How big is this place I asked? Hogwarts sized? Have you looked for it? Has an employee stolen it?’
They asked me what the item was, I said ‘a candle’
They said ‘candles aren’t covered by our insurance as they’re glass so they break’
I said ‘but you said you’ve lost it, not broken it’
They still kept saying ‘but it’s glass so it probably broke’
I said ‘still send if you’re saying it’s broken and not lost so I can see it for myself’
I should have lied and not said it was a candle but I think they’d use any excuse going to not take any responsibility.
They couldn’t give a toss, will never use them again.

Reddedder · 08/05/2019 08:10

Mine is great

Springwalk · 08/05/2019 08:12

beyond dreadful here. they leave our parcels in the bins on collection day out in the road

MadisonAvenue · 08/05/2019 08:14

I haven't had very much experience of them but our local Co-op has recently become a Hermes collect/return point so I've used them twice to return items to Amazon. I've had a 50% success rate as one was returned yet the other is still out there somewhere, five weeks later. It's showing as being collected by the courier but that's where the trail ends.

LoafofSellotape · 08/05/2019 08:15

My Hermes lady is fantastic!

lemonjumper · 08/05/2019 08:16

My Hermes guy is great too! In fact, I don't have issues with any courier in my area, so I must be very lucky.

TheStuffedPenguin · 08/05/2019 08:16

Definitely something going on with Hermes right now . Like you OP I have about 6 parcels outstanding from them and Amazon have had to send out again several of them . I still have not got those replacements . The one day Prime delivery from Amazon currently not working with Hermes. I wish they would acknowledge there is a problem currently . Royal Mail on the other hand is delivering as per the one day . You can't talk to anyone, they send you e mails and messages with tracking numbers some of which don't exist and others just show as " will be with you in 48 hours " . It's a flipping nightmare !

HoneyDragon · 08/05/2019 08:16

It’s based on your area. Here our Hermes group is amazing and you breathe a sigh of relief if it’s Hermes. If it’s DPD local than we may as well ask whoever I’m buying from to smash up my item and hide it and save themselves the postage fee. (DPD business are excellent though).

HJWT · 08/05/2019 08:17

@Springwalk I think thats the best one I have heard so far 🤣

YANBU. In my area they are by far the worst courier ever. Not going into detail as I'll get too annoyed but couldn't make up some of the experiences I've had. Literally it fit for purpose. Even more so their apparent 'twilight' shift.

All others are pretty great. DPD / amazon logistics are fantastic. The supermarkets are also all great. Something is drastically wrong with Hermes in my area - my heart sinks when I realise I've ordered something that Hermes are 'trying' to deliver - yes they need shut down

EddyF · 08/05/2019 08:18

Fed ex is the worst. I am having so much problems with them right now.

Acis · 08/05/2019 08:18

I ordered something to be delivered to my work address. They initially claimed to have tried to deliver it on a Saturday and have to have clocked that it was an office, and I got a message that they were going to deliver on the next working day, which would have been fine. However, the following Monday, which was a Bank Holiday, I had a text at 8.45 that they were going to deliver between 9 and 11. As I live fairly nearby, I decided to go over and got there at around 9.10, only to find that they claimed to have already tried and failed to deliver. There were no cards put through the door on either occasion, so I'm really sceptical.

luckygreeneyes · 08/05/2019 08:18

I was just about to jump in to defend their lovely scarves. As you were...

ByeGermsByeWorries · 08/05/2019 08:19

Hermes threw my parcel into my pond once. Hmm another parcel I sent to a friend the courier stole the contents and rammed the torn packaging into my friend's gas cupboard and tried to say that was how it arrived.

Wheresthebeach · 08/05/2019 08:19

Hermes are the worst! I now check website I'm ordering from, and if they use Hermes, I go elsewhere. Way too much hassle.

lalaloopyhead · 08/05/2019 08:21

I've mentioned before that my Hermes lady is brilliant. I don't mind DPD either as they tend to send a text with a delivery time.

Yodel on the other hand.....

CaptainMyCaptain · 08/05/2019 08:22

It depends entirely on the individual courier. We used to have one that was great but, before Christmas, one left a parcel in a place so safe we couldn't find it for about a week, and left no card. I complained to the supplier (impossible to contact Hermes direct) and was sent a photo of my front door to prove they had been to the house. He/she also leaves crumpled Hermes notes in the street where they have tossed them out of the car window.

Wheresthebeach · 08/05/2019 08:22

For the first time ever I'm hoping The Fail picks this up!

Tensixtysix · 08/05/2019 08:24

Hermes were great a few years ago. This was when the 'self employed' workers were allowed to get to know their customers and didn't have 'compliance' on their backs 24hrs!
They even used to get £1 a delivery. Now it's a maximum of 40p per parcel and no extra if they try to redeliver.
If you want to complain, contact HERMES as they are getting rid of all the good workers and bringing in any monkey that wants to be treated like sh!t.
And yes, hopefully they WILL get shut down.

Moralitym1n1 · 08/05/2019 08:24

Have to say I've only had good experiences with them.

One time the courier went back 3 days in a row to get a parcel due to various mistakes on my and the people it was being collected from's parts with no extra charge.

LunaAzul · 08/05/2019 08:25

I paid just under £3 to send a parcel to my SIL other side of the country last week with Hermes. Drop off was at my local shop, then fully tracked and even let me know when it had been signed for (hadn't paid for the signed for service!)

That said, I wonder if it's down to the courier - am assuming they don't get paid if they have to try multiple times to drop the parcel off but that's really no excuse to deliver it to the bin. I've found Yodel terrible for leaving the parcel in bins!

Shelbybear · 08/05/2019 08:26

I agree, they are defo the worst.

I've never agreed a safe place nor would I coz there isn't one. Parcels always left in the blue bin. I'm quite happy with that though coz if they go missing not my responsibility.

I've also had parcels dispatched and then for no reason they haven't tried to deliver and returned it to the company. That's happened twice in less than 2 yrs.

Sent a parcel, I've only sent a couple. It went missing I had to refund buyer. I did get my money back from them for it and then a few weeks later it was left in my back garden under the patio table. I'm like oh well I've already got a refund. Opened it up and some of the contents were broken so just went straight in the bin.

SoyDora · 08/05/2019 08:27

Our Hermes courier is fab. And our DPD courier. Yodel is shit!
