So I let an acquaintance borrow one of the slings from my embarrassingly large collection a while ago. Made it clear that I’d be wanting it back.
Fast forward a few months and I’m expecting another baby, so will be needing it. It one of the few on the market with a lower weight limit for tiny babies (suitable from 5lbs) and I make small babies, which is why it’s this specific sling I’ll be wanting for my new baby.
Asked the other day about getting it back, and she said “oh it’s I’ve packed it away somewhere but will look.”
Mentioned it to another friend who also knows her and said she’s pretty sure that it was being advertised on a Facebook selling site a while back
AIBU to call her out on it, and expect either my sling back or the money to replace it?!
Who does that? Borrows something from a friend and then flogs it on the sly?!!

Keep on about it and ask her to replace it if she hasn't got it. Cheeky thing!

I think I'd say "I'm not sure why you packed it away when you knew it was a loan. I want to get all my things sorted now, so can you let me have it asap?"

I would ask again and then say a mutual friend was sure one the same was for sale on Facebook so could she buy that for you instead /give you the money to buy it and you can track the seller down
