To be fuming at this cheeky fucker?!

So I let an acquaintance borrow one of the slings from my embarrassingly large collection a while ago. Made it clear that I’d be wanting it back.
Fast forward a few months and I’m expecting another baby, so will be needing it. It one of the few on the market with a lower weight limit for tiny babies (suitable from 5lbs) and I make small babies, which is why it’s this specific sling I’ll be wanting for my new baby.
Asked the other day about getting it back, and she said “oh it’s I’ve packed it away somewhere but will look.”
Mentioned it to another friend who also knows her and said she’s pretty sure that it was being advertised on a Facebook selling site a while back Hmm
AIBU to call her out on it, and expect either my sling back or the money to replace it?!
Who does that? Borrows something from a friend and then flogs it on the sly?!! Angry

I'm so tempted to ask if it's still available, assuming I've found the right one, just to see if she offers to sell it to me.

Why bother getting your friend to check? An unnecessary distraction. It is your sling. Ask for it back or a replacement. Being direct is surely the easiest solution here?

I’m asking the friend to ask first so I can check if it’s actually sold or if she’s still got it.
If it’s sold, then I can confront her about it and demand the money to replace it. If it’s not and she still has it, then I’ll be getting it back.

Tell the ‘friend’ that borrowed your sling “it cost £85. so if I don’t have it back by early April/next Wednesday/my birthday, I expect you will be giving me the cash alternative because I do actually need or I would have given it to you, rather than lend”
