To be fuming at this cheeky fucker?!

So I let an acquaintance borrow one of the slings from my embarrassingly large collection a while ago. Made it clear that I’d be wanting it back.
Fast forward a few months and I’m expecting another baby, so will be needing it. It one of the few on the market with a lower weight limit for tiny babies (suitable from 5lbs) and I make small babies, which is why it’s this specific sling I’ll be wanting for my new baby.
Asked the other day about getting it back, and she said “oh it’s I’ve packed it away somewhere but will look.”
Mentioned it to another friend who also knows her and said she’s pretty sure that it was being advertised on a Facebook selling site a while back Hmm
AIBU to call her out on it, and expect either my sling back or the money to replace it?!
Who does that? Borrows something from a friend and then flogs it on the sly?!! Angry

I'm so tempted to ask if it's still available, assuming I've found the right one, just to see if she offers to sell it to me.

Joebloggswazere · 22/03/2019 20:04

I loaned my friend a jumperoo...,I fear I went the same way as your sling!

Inaquandry06 · 22/03/2019 20:05
Shock
Mammyloveswine · 22/03/2019 20:05

Omg cheeky bitch! Bloody fuming for you!

Birdshitbridgegotme · 22/03/2019 20:05

Omg I'm angry for you what a Cf?!

MsPavlichenko · 22/03/2019 20:06

Why bother getting your friend to check? An unnecessary distraction. It is your sling. Ask for it back or a replacement. Being direct is surely the easiest solution here?

Mookie81 · 22/03/2019 20:06

Stop with the stupid shenanigans and just send a pic of it to her asking for it back Hmm

NerrSnerr · 22/03/2019 20:07

I agree with PP. just ask for it back directly.

MrsFrankCastle · 22/03/2019 20:07

Shamelessly placemarking..

GreenTulips · 22/03/2019 20:08

I think OP is just ch cling if it sold

SlummyMummy77 · 22/03/2019 20:08

I would have to comment on it. 'I'm so glad you found it. Can you pop it round tomorrow please'.

glueandstick · 22/03/2019 20:08

I’d be a little murderous I feel. Some people are just awful.

eggcustard1 · 22/03/2019 20:09

dinkydolphin: same, need to know what happens here!

GetStrongKeepFighting · 22/03/2019 20:09

Don't let her get away with stealing!

EstimationNavigation · 22/03/2019 20:09

I’d show her the screenshot

Persimmonn · 22/03/2019 20:09

Make a fake name and ask to buy it. Go to pick it up. Please do this Grin

hewhinessoshewines · 22/03/2019 20:12

What a cheeky schicken

1CantPickAName · 22/03/2019 20:12

cf!

Fcukthisshit · 22/03/2019 20:12

Wow that’s naughty of her! I hope you can get it back!

MyBreadIsEggy · 22/03/2019 20:12

I’m asking the friend to ask first so I can check if it’s actually sold or if she’s still got it.
If it’s sold, then I can confront her about it and demand the money to replace it. If it’s not and she still has it, then I’ll be getting it back.

Ooh keep us posted
CF indeed

RandomMess · 22/03/2019 20:13

If it's sold tell her she needs to replace it with one within 2 weeks, watch her try and fob you off with the £10 she got!

IvanaPee · 22/03/2019 20:15

Don’t take £40 for it either! Make her replace it. Cheeky cow.

lostfrequencies · 22/03/2019 20:16

ShockShockShock

NannyRed · 22/03/2019 20:16

Tell the ‘friend’ that borrowed your sling “it cost £85. so if I don’t have it back by early April/next Wednesday/my birthday, I expect you will be giving me the cash alternative because I do actually need or I would have given it to you, rather than lend”
