To be fuming at this cheeky fucker?!

So I let an acquaintance borrow one of the slings from my embarrassingly large collection a while ago. Made it clear that I’d be wanting it back.
Fast forward a few months and I’m expecting another baby, so will be needing it. It one of the few on the market with a lower weight limit for tiny babies (suitable from 5lbs) and I make small babies, which is why it’s this specific sling I’ll be wanting for my new baby.
Asked the other day about getting it back, and she said “oh it’s I’ve packed it away somewhere but will look.”
Mentioned it to another friend who also knows her and said she’s pretty sure that it was being advertised on a Facebook selling site a while back Hmm
AIBU to call her out on it, and expect either my sling back or the money to replace it?!
Who does that? Borrows something from a friend and then flogs it on the sly?!! Angry

Too much drama. Just send her the screenshot and call her out on it.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 22/03/2019 20:16

That is so bloody rudeShock

OohToBeAah · 22/03/2019 20:17

I am genuinely speechless Shock

Who does that?!

spiderlight · 22/03/2019 20:19

That is spectacularly cheeky. I would 100% have sent her the screenshot by now!

Bottledate · 22/03/2019 20:20

She's had it for a few months and only now selling it after you've asked for it back??

cstaff · 22/03/2019 20:21

She needs to know that you know. It doesn't matter whether she still has it. Either way it has to be returned.

fblake · 22/03/2019 20:21

That is so bad Angry

Noodledoodlesandspud · 22/03/2019 20:22

That is so rude!! I hope she still had it and you get it back.

booksandhearts · 22/03/2019 20:24

how awful!

mamangelo · 22/03/2019 20:24

Has she potentially forgotten it’s yours and done a massive clear out of all ‘her’ stuff? Was she selling loads of things?
She might have only realised her mistake when you asked for it back, been absolutely horrified and get you a new one

I am such an optimist, plus my baby brain was crazy bad. Could this be an oversight?

pineappletower · 22/03/2019 20:24

CF extraordinaire

BatFace1 · 22/03/2019 20:24

What a load of drama palaver.

If your collection is 'embarrassingly large' you won't go short will you? Just chalk it up to experience and use another of your slings. Yes she's cheeky but meh - some folk are

AnnieCat84 · 22/03/2019 20:25

So rude!!

YouSayPotatoesISayVodka · 22/03/2019 20:25

Why are you getting a friend to check for you? Just send her the screen shot and tell her she has to give the sling back to you straight away and isn’t to sell it. If she’s already sold it then she owes you the money for it (RRP not the measly tenner she’s sold it for). And she’s not a CF. She’s a thief. A fucking brazen one at that.

ShadowMane · 22/03/2019 20:26

How bloody rude!

Florencenotflo · 22/03/2019 20:26

I leant DH's niece our next to me crib and after reading many of these type of threads I delivered it to SIL's house and in front of witnesses, (because niece can be a cheeky fucker) made it clear I was lending it to her and would definitely want it back.

6 months later she's trying to flog it! At least I rescued it before it sold! But honestly, after I'd made it clear!

Hope you get it back @MyBreadIsEggy

FuzzyPuffling · 22/03/2019 20:26

Exactly what yousay says above.
Have you lent her anything else? If so, get everything else back as well.

Alloftheboys · 22/03/2019 20:26

@BatFace1 so it’s alright if I come into your house and take one of your books/priceless teapots/board games whatever you collect and have invested money in then?
After all you can’t moan about it as you have loads Hmm

MyBreadIsEggy · 22/03/2019 20:27

Report back from friend: it’s sold apparently Hmm
So I’ll be messaging with the screenshots and asking for the money to replace it.

BatFace1 · 22/03/2019 20:27

@Alloftheboys you misunderstand me. I acknowledge she's cheeky

And a sling is not a priceless item. Don't be daft

scatteredglitter · 22/03/2019 20:28

Absolute cheek. I would keep asking her and try to get it back from her. Then once you got it back message her with the screen shot of her selling it saying so glad you didn't sell it. Friendship over.

Figgygal · 22/03/2019 20:29

Cheeky assed fucker!!

Hope you get it back

Qsandmore · 22/03/2019 20:30

Shameless placemarking

Hotpinkangel19 · 22/03/2019 20:32

That's disgusting!!!
