To ask - your favourite word?

Not sure if it's weird but I just have a little collection of words I love (mainly for their meaning and not the sound).

I loved limerence when I first heard it.

Does anyone have any other words that they really like the meaning of? I'm actually looking for one-word tattoo inspiration (don't judge for the tattoo!), so I'm reading, googling, being more conscious of words in films etc but I thought I'd ask you users as well!

Well I hope you're not going to use limerence (or as we used to call it "massive crush Grin) but I doubt you'll use my favourite either which is Szechuan (for the sound not the meaning!).

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 10/02/2019 19:12

Oddly Limerence is a word that makes me cringe and go Urggh! Each to his own. I love Onomatopoeia though, the word and the meaning.

PentreBachCymraeg · 10/02/2019 19:14

Concubine and plop Grin

Bobbiepin · 10/02/2019 19:15

Plop is a good word. I like phenomenon.

CrimpBrunette · 10/02/2019 19:15

Ameliorate. I don't even know why, it just sounds pretty Grin

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 10/02/2019 19:16

Machiavellian. But I’m not sure I’d want it on me permanently.

doid · 10/02/2019 19:18

@DontCallMeCharlotte no, definitely too many negative reasons not to use limerence! Blush

Discombobulated.

jellybeans44 · 10/02/2019 19:21

Bubbles! Or sparkles :)

DareDevil223 · 10/02/2019 19:22

Happenstance. Both the sound and the meaning.

TheFaerieQueene · 10/02/2019 19:22

Gobshite.

ApolloandDaphne · 10/02/2019 19:22

Peppermint is my favourite word. No idea why.

ChampionThreadKiller · 10/02/2019 19:22

Ragamuffin and crop.

Mari50 · 10/02/2019 19:22

Two together- adverse camber. Love love love- so much this might be outing actually haha

PetuliaBlavatsky · 10/02/2019 19:23

Recidivist and discombobulated. Neither particularly good for tattoos but lively words to say!

Hazlenutpie · 10/02/2019 19:24

Palaver

LilQuim · 10/02/2019 19:25

My favourite word is haberdashery. No idea why.

OhTheRoses · 10/02/2019 19:25

Blatherskite. And "fuck" above the bed has so much more resonance than "love" etc.

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 10/02/2019 19:38

Mine is "bollocks"

But I wouldn't recommend it for a tattoo!

MrsJackRackham · 10/02/2019 19:46

I live saying Apothecary and bombardier.
And Ballachulish (pronounced balahoolish), which is just as you leave Glencoe heading north. I always stop there so I can say ' I stopped off at Ballachulish. Smile

OhTheRoses · 10/02/2019 19:53

One doesn't hear much about Atrocious Cunts now.

Penis Beaker
Any Fucker
Fabby Chic

Or totally over the top - Justine

ILoveBray · 10/02/2019 19:54

Slapdash Grin

EnglishRose13 · 10/02/2019 19:55

Chicane.

I've absolutely no idea why.

AngelontopoftheTree · 10/02/2019 19:57

My favourite word is Sphincter, not for the meaning just the sound. Don't think it's tattoo worthy though 😄
