To ask - your favourite word?

Not sure if it's weird but I just have a little collection of words I love (mainly for their meaning and not the sound).

I loved limerence when I first heard it.

Does anyone have any other words that they really like the meaning of? I'm actually looking for one-word tattoo inspiration (don't judge for the tattoo!), so I'm reading, googling, being more conscious of words in films etc but I thought I'd ask you users as well!

Twat. Can convey such depth of emotion, especially when utilised whilst driving

Not a recommended tattoo though.

@Merchantgirl
I can assure you, it's as gorgeous as it's name.

GrouchyKiwi · 10/02/2019 22:08

Cromulent. It's a kind of pointless word (just means adequate) and thus is what it means. I love that about it.

Drogosnextwife · 10/02/2019 22:10

Ragamuffin

Rockbird · 10/02/2019 22:15

Only learnt this on MN the other day, had never heard it before.

Interrobang.

I flippin' love it and must have said it about 400 times since I first heard it Grin

Ivegotthree · 10/02/2019 22:20

The word limerence really annoys me as I have only seen it on here. I read widely and have a very good education and a professional job that involves words. But I have only ever come across 'limerence' on here. So I think it's pretentious.

I like the word puffin, FWIW.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 10/02/2019 22:21

Not sure if it’s my fave word but I use it all the time... bollocks 😂😂

For some reason I really like words that start with "pl" - platform is one of my favourites, along with plectrum and plinth.

EleanorAbernathy · 10/02/2019 22:35

Bungalow - the way it sounds not what it means!

Bubastes · 10/02/2019 22:36

Strut.

Insomnibrat · 10/02/2019 22:42

Ginnel

Decemberly · 10/02/2019 22:46

Hiraeth. There isn’t a precise English translation, but it’s along the lines of “longing for a home which you can no longer return to”.

LellyMcKelly · 10/02/2019 22:48

Omphaloskepsis - reaching enlightenment by contemplating your navel. Excellent word and excellent meaning.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/02/2019 22:49

Flubbernucked.

Islathepaella · 10/02/2019 22:53

I like the words plug and camouflage, sadly I rarely use them and have no idea why I seem to like them!

Nothininmenoggin · 10/02/2019 22:58

Crabbit and braw. They remind me of home I just love themGrin
