To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

maybe shes not the brightest tool in the box..... makes me almost hang my head in shame as a local (same town). her friend as a teacher will know that as a professional she cant go blithering to the press , plus probably has some sense.

Honeyroar · 21/01/2019 11:37

Lulu this might be your moment to get your own back. The Daily Mail plagarists are probably messaging you as we speak!

The woman sounds awful, but she's probably got the press egging her on, and is probably entitled to feel a bit shaken up after that accident.

nannieplum · 21/01/2019 11:39

what a bitch!! and a liar...."overcast" my arse.

CantWaitToRetire · 21/01/2019 11:40

I too thought the most interesting comment was that she had requested insurance details several times from her friend who was driving and the friend's DH had finally provided them "in a formal email". So there's obviously some falling out between the woman and her friend. TBH, looking at this from the friend's POV, she was involved in a nasty accident which could have resulted in her young baby being seriously injured (thank goodness it wasn't), her car is probably a write off, she'll be shocked as hell, and now her friend is asking for her insurance details. That almost implies that this woman thinks her friend (the driver) is at fault. Surely the Duke's insurance (if he even has any - they were saying on tv that the Royals are exempt?) should be liable for any costs/injury claims? I'd be pissed off if my friend was trying to make a claim on my insurance on top of all the other shock/stress/worry.

Warsaw0912 · 21/01/2019 11:40

Goodness Lulu that’s shocking, she sounds reprehensible, how long were you friends for? How did you get to know her Shock

MarthasGinYard · 21/01/2019 11:41

'As soon as I saw the sad face pic holding the arm up any sympathy I had for her plummeted.'

Quite

nannieplum · 21/01/2019 11:42

surely the insurance is between the drivers only. what on earth has the details got to do with friend? mmmmm another rat smelled ere. formal e mail probably means fucked off friend/ driver.

mydogisthebest · 21/01/2019 11:43

No of course the Royal Family should not be apologising to her. If Joe Bloggs had hit their car she wouldn't be expecting a phone call, flowers, card for God's sake would she.

I am sick already of seeing her pulling that sad face all over the papers. Ok she broke her wrist which is not nice but it could have been much worse

MarthasGinYard · 21/01/2019 11:43

Lulu Shock

ExFury · 21/01/2019 11:45

what on earth has the details got to do with friend?

She’s clearly going to go down the injuries compensation route.

I wouldn’t be surprised to read about her whiplash soon. Especially as she seems to be making a thing of only having her her arm checked over, nothing else. Gives scope for whiplash, concussion and other invisible types of injuries to emerge

Alltheprettyseahorses · 21/01/2019 11:45

Whatever the woman has or hasn't done in the past is totally irrelevant. She could have been killed by a 97-yo idiot who should not be driving. Financial compensation is the least she should expect. If she can get a bit of fame for her story then whatever. In this case, she is actually the victim.

DGRossetti · 21/01/2019 11:47

Royal family are handling this appallingly - where's their PR?

I wondered that at Christmas, with the gold piano behind her Madge as she gave her speech ....

SoupDragon · 21/01/2019 11:47

She could have been killed by a 97-yo idiot who should not be driving. Financial compensation is the least she should expect

She wasn't killed. Not even close. You don't get financial compensation for not being killed.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 21/01/2019 11:49

I said she could have been killed although she did end up with a nasty injury. No, she wouldn't get compensation for being dead. Her family would.

Shallishanti123 · 21/01/2019 11:49

All the pretty seahorses... her past actually is relevant. If she has previous history of defrauding people then I’m sure that the DofE’s legal team would be interested in that.

Bluelady · 21/01/2019 11:49

None of us were there. We don't know whose fault it was. Interesting how quiet the other driver is. Either they're a decent person or their insurance company has told them to keep schtum. Or both.

GabsAlot · 21/01/2019 11:49

but it wasnt her driving its not her place to go round mouthing off to the press

StarbucksSmarterSister · 21/01/2019 11:50

Lulu, if she did that to you, I bet you're not the only one.

StephanieNicks · 21/01/2019 11:50

Why are you all taking Lulu's word for it? She could be libeling the poor woman!

GabsAlot · 21/01/2019 11:50

i dont thin lulu post shuld be pulled shes only telling the truth for once i hope the mail picks this up

She wasn't killed, so that is irrelevant. I said you don't get compensation for not being killed. A broken wrist isn't a "nasty" injury.
