To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

She will be treated the same as anyone else in a road traffic accident - as will the Duke. The insurance company will take over and eventually pay out, if blame can be established for anything, the guilty party will be fined. End of.

Bluelady · 23/01/2019 13:56

@SaucePansLabrynth, that's brilliant. 🤣

Rainbunny · 23/01/2019 15:15

YANBU! I think going in tv to complain is pathetic, just let the insurance companies and the police deal with things.

That said... I do actually understand her annoyance at not receiving an apology. I was hit at a junction by a car running a red light (other driver was found to be 100% at fault not surprisingly). As I was stuck in my car, unable to move my arm (the accident caused a broken arm and collarbone) or get out because he smashed into the driver's side and the door was damaged the other driver just stood 10 feet away looking at me tentatively asking if I was alright. He wouldn't come closer or try to help and later I found out he was a bloody doctor of all things! I'm not naive and I'm well aware that drivers are cautioned not to admit liability but for a doctor to cause a crash and then just stand back doing nothing, leaving it to other bystanders to step in and help really annoyed me when I recovered enough to think about it. He never apologised either of course. It's surprised me to realise how much a simple apology would have mattered to me. That's not the world we live in now though is it.

Abra1de · 23/01/2019 16:07

It has been the case for decades rainbunny that you shouldn’t apologise. I hit a woman’s car ( her fault not mine, as she pulled out in front of me, and the insurance company agreed) in 1987 and no way did I say I was sorry because I’d been taught it could mean accepting liability. I did make sure she was ok and exchange details.

Anapurna · 23/01/2019 16:20

I think the issue is not the lack of an apology but the way she went about it all. She behaved like a grabby fool.

Anapurna · 23/01/2019 16:22

A severe case of victimitis.
A desire to get her 15 minutes of “fame”.
A desire to swell her coffers.

Anapurna · 23/01/2019 16:23

Dreadful on all three counts.

Bluelady · 23/01/2019 16:23

A sense of entitlement.

PentreBachCymraeg · 23/01/2019 16:25

She'll just fade away, yesterday's chip paper.. (the days when it was ok to throw mushy peas, cod and scallops on pages of the tabloids and feast off them) Wink

Hippywannabe · 23/01/2019 16:32

Have I missed where Lulu's story was published?

Groovee · 23/01/2019 16:35

@Hippywannabe don't think it has been yet.

ShirleyPhallus · 23/01/2019 16:36

Some of these posts falling over themselves to congratulate Lulu are a bit weird, esp when we have no idea if what she has said is true

All a bit Oliver’s Army

PentreBachCymraeg · 23/01/2019 17:00

I doubt we'll ever know Shirley.. And those saying they won't be able to sleep until it all comes out in the wash... 🙄

BlueThesaurusRex · 23/01/2019 17:29

I’ve got a theory if we don’t see Lulu’s story published...

The royal family have connections with the press agency, they’ve investigated lulus claims and found it to be true, so, they’re going to pay Lulu the money that Emma Fairweather owes her and warn her (EF) that if she continues to pursue it then they will print the story of her wrongdoings!

Lulu of course only gets the money if she agrees to keep schtum, this thread gets deleted, boom. The end.

Grin
CookingGood · 23/01/2019 17:41

Or, cos it’s all a pile of bullshit

WeneverownedaniPad · 23/01/2019 18:01

I think the Royal Family has had Lulu taken to the Tower for further questioning.

And that you're all a bunch of muppets for falling her story.

Frickssake · 23/01/2019 18:01

Came on here wondering why Lulu's story never made the news ( unless I missed it)

beanaseireann · 23/01/2019 18:08

What was Lulu's story anyway ?

beanaseireann · 23/01/2019 18:08

What as Lus story anyway ?

Monthsontherun · 23/01/2019 18:19

Surprised if Lulu's story wasn't published?

Newsername · 23/01/2019 18:22

Been waiting for Lulu’s story. I think it’s BS now. It was all very perfectly timed too wasn’t it?

over50andfab · 23/01/2019 18:27

EF has shown herself up for the sort of person she is by sharing her “story” on TV and had a lot of what she said disproved. She has done this while there is an ongoing investigation by the insurance companies involved - really stupid move.

By Lulu sharing her story in a newspaper, all this will do is possibly further show EF up for who she is and result in a lot more gossip and speculation. It should not in essence change any monies she becomes due to as a result of the car accident.

Also, if Lulu has an ongoing case because of past events between her and EF it might not be wise to broadcast it to the general public at this moment. Having said that, if I was Lulu and I’d been defrauded I’d want to see justice done and someone getting their just rewards and for everyone to know!

ShirleyPhallus · 23/01/2019 18:44

IF Lulu’s story isn’t true, which is looking likely given she disappeared and the story wasn’t published, rather than her holding EF to ransom somehow then she has really trolled very successfully and should go to the troll hall of fame

Nicknacky · 23/01/2019 18:46

The thing is, Lulu’s story is interesting to all of us on MN but that doesn’t mean the papers will think it’s newsworthy. The crash was nearly a week ago and hasn’t been mentioned in the papers for a few days now, plus there is other news stories that have broken since then.

It doesn’t mean her story isn’t true at all.
