To be annoyed at woman from DofE car crash?

ilovemilton · 21/01/2019 10:52

Whatever we think about Prince Phillip and his driving, the accident happened and two ladies were unfortunately hurt.

However, I am watching This Morning and getting some level of rage about the clear compo grabbing attitude of this lady! Crashes happen every day and she has no need to be splashed across every news paper and programme because she wants an apology!

The Royal Family have even said they have tried to be in touch but not getting a response. What does she want?!

Romanov · 22/01/2019 18:01

@frompampastobroadway

It was a copy paste....

frompampastobroadway · 22/01/2019 18:04

What the whole post?

RLABC · 22/01/2019 18:11

@frompampastobroadway it's a pasted copy of the article in the link at the top of @Romanov's post

Romanov · 22/01/2019 18:14

@frompampastobroadway

Yes

ChocolateStash · 22/01/2019 18:15

The KIA must have been speeding. If she saw him at 150m, she could have moved to the middle lane to allow him room to manoeuvre. The d of E was stopped on a side road in a 4x4 and cartwheeled across the road on impact. He must have been hit at high speed. He wouldn't have built up much speed taking off from the junction. D of E was being followed by security so they may have witnessed what happened. Interesting there hasn't been any comment from Kia driver.

frompampastobroadway · 22/01/2019 18:17

Apologies in that case Romanov

Nicknacky · 22/01/2019 18:23

There is nothing at all to say the Kia driver was speeding or at fault. It’s a 60 limit as it it. I would expect damage and injuries to have been far worse if the soled had been higher.

jessstan2 · 22/01/2019 18:25

Romanov, your language! Just not necessary.

ajandjjmum · 22/01/2019 18:35

Jess - It's not Romanov's language! Grin

Romanov · 22/01/2019 18:42

@jessstan2
Romanov, your language! Just not necessary

Swearing is allowed (and encouraged) here. We are all adults. Swearing makes language colourful, and while I don't tend to swear that much, I can if I want to without someone telling me off
If the mn rules change, then I will follow them, but until then....

WhoWants2Know · 22/01/2019 18:46

Fuck, yes.

AdobeWanKenobi · 22/01/2019 18:49

Sorry but RomanyRoots being so offended she reported AND PM'd shecame is just hilarious.

CantWaitToRetire · 22/01/2019 18:59

@ChocolateStash another PP who lives local has already stated that the KIA driver couldn't have seen the Duke at 150m as the collision area is on a bend and you can only get visibility at (I think it was) 50m. Also, you don't have to be speeding to flip another car, just hit it at the right angle. A car local to me was turned over by another driver who pulled out suddenly from the side of the road from a parked position.

Ladymargarethall · 22/01/2019 19:17

Chocolateperhaps she has been reading Mumsnet and decided to keep stum.

upseta · 22/01/2019 19:48

Do you know that they are definitely going to run with the story lulu?

Absentwomen · 22/01/2019 19:52

Perhaps the Kia driver has been advised not to speak to the media. I'd day that would make sense hence the formal email from her husband to EF. I'd say the insurance company of the driver has been contacted by the RF legal team and driver has been advised accordingly.

This is all speculative on my behalf. While this incident is out of the ordinary RTA, I'd speculate that the driver may well have been advised not to speak to the passenger - given the fact she's sold out to the press.

How many of us, where an RTA has occurred, and insurance companies are involved do drivers speak ro each other other than at the scene?

As for Ms Fairweather, classy, love, classy.

She said she did not remember it being sunny that day

It was very sunny, we drove down from Hunstanton an hour or so before the prang and even then the sun made driving difficult in places, especially where there were trees, it caused a strobe effect. Anyone who drives that road regularly knows it's lethal, 60 mph is far too fast, it's one of the fastest roads in Norfolk, in Summer the traffic jams are almost a relief!

bigtitts · 23/01/2019 07:56

exactly tilly. DH knows EF sister. She`s opposite of EF!

Shallishanti123 · 23/01/2019 08:06

Adobe... I was chuckling too Grin

SaveKevin · 23/01/2019 08:57

It’s all gone very quiet on the EF front.
I think you, lulu have helped to have done enough to discredit her so the press won’t touch her.

Anapurna · 23/01/2019 13:42

Win win, in that case. That woman’s fake behaviour, as she bleated to journalists and morning tv presenters about her life changing injury, had already discredited her in the eyes of the public majority.

Lulu’s information about the woman’s behaviour prior to this, was the deadly blow.

I, for one, am glad I do not have to trip over her face at every turn.

SaucePansLabyrinth · 23/01/2019 13:49

Is the queen going to send her a cow so she can milk that too?
