Does anyone else have 'the chair' in their bedroom?

You know, the chair? The chair where worn but not ready to go in the wash clothes go because it feels weird hanging them back up if they're not clean?

Then the pile of clothes gets so big you can no longer see the chair. Then when you crack and de-clothe the chair you find things you'd totally forgotten about?

Or is this just me? Am I the only slovenly one?

Beautifully written. It could be a poem entitled 'The Chair'.

And yes, I do have such a chair.

Tulipvase · 07/01/2019 22:09

For reasons I shan’t go in to I can’t have a chair but I do have a clothes on a pileofmagzinesinthebathroomdrobe.

13thWarriorWitch · 07/01/2019 22:09

My cat will only sleep on specific cardigans that I keep on the sofa for him.

I have the drawer............

rabbitmat · 07/01/2019 22:10

I have just been clearing the chair and the banister which is an overflow for the chair. In the process I found two washing balls and a £10 note. I'm clearing the chair because the cleaners are coming tomorrow.

Becles · 07/01/2019 22:10

When my mum did her first tour of our new house she asked me where the chair was. She was really anxious about how on earth I'd manage. I smugly flicked my hair and declared a chair unnecessary.

Ha. I now have a chair, a deliberately posh and glam chair as in Seriously top 5 expensive piece of furniture we own. The plan was to have such a beautiful chair I'd sit down and contemplate the world while quaffing quality wine and reading an improving book of some sort.

The chair and my arse have yet to be introduced because it's now a conscripted wardrobe

Kahlua4me · 07/01/2019 22:11

We used to have a chair just for this purpose.

I now have a mirror thingy from Ikea! It’s a full length free standing mirror with hooks and rails behind it so I can throw things over and they are hidden from view 😊.

FascinatingCarrot · 07/01/2019 22:11

I have The Chair.
It morphs into The Lightbulb Changing Stand and the Top Shelf of the Wardrobe Step.

UncleFailBOOT · 07/01/2019 22:11

Then when you crack and de-clothe the chair you find things you'd totally forgotten about?

And don't know quite what to do with them so sling them into the washing basket to go through the wash cycle while you cogitate the matter.

No chair here sadly, there was a box of Christmas lights at the bottom of the bed that was so plastered in worn-once clothes that I forgot it was under there and failed to put it in the loft with the other Christmas decorations boxes (multitudes of). Now that's been moved, the floordrobe has taken on the job again with a will

We have the chair! Or rather, I have the chair and DP has the top of his chest of drawers. His ‘n’ hers clothes limbo.

delboysskinandblister · 07/01/2019 22:12

yes. found missing new top under pile of clean clothes. clean clothes fallen off chair. pile of clothes under a pile of black fur on floor which turned out to be a fat cat. wondered what the snuffling / snoring was the other evening.

cat is not ours Confused

Melfish · 07/01/2019 22:13

Oh good, not just me. I have my granny’s old armchair to air and park my part worn clothes. DH hates it. He is jealous as his wardrobe always has his once worn clothes festooned over the door or hanging down from the open door over the open drawers underneath like a fabric hanging gardens of babylon. He then moans if the cat sets up camp there.

pineapplebryanbrown · 07/01/2019 22:13

I have The Fan, The Exercise Bike (lol) and The Floor. I need A Fulltime Housekeeper.

DareDevil223 · 07/01/2019 22:13

I have The Chair. I clear The Chair on a regular basis and all is neat and orderly and then it all creeps back again. I have plenty of storage space so no excuse other than idleness really.

SovietKitsch · 07/01/2019 22:13

I cleared off my chair yesterday

Paddy1234 · 07/01/2019 22:13

I have the chair.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 07/01/2019 22:14

I have a sofa in our bedroom and I can fit 2 weeks worth of washing on it 🤔

Thankssomuch · 07/01/2019 22:15

We’ve got two Chairs.

PearlandRubies194 · 07/01/2019 22:15

Yes I do!

Are there really only two of us who clicked on this expecting it to be a sex thread?

Ilovemypantry · 07/01/2019 22:16

When I first bought my new Chair for the bedroom, it was going to be just “a naice chair” with one cushion neatly placed. That lasted about a week and is now most definitely “The Chair” 😝

Notwiththeseknees · 07/01/2019 22:17

DP and I are away at the moment - in an Airbnb. We brought our over the door hooks with us and imported the Chair from their dining room.

Notwiththeseknees · 07/01/2019 22:19

Can't see much of it, covered in ski gear & my Pilates ring hanging jauntily off the back...

Squidgee · 07/01/2019 22:19

i have several hangers on my wardrobe for dresses I've worn but dont need washing.

Then I have the top of my laundry basket for other things.. and there is also the floor at the end of my bed.. and the top of my shoe cupboard.
