Does anyone else have 'the chair' in their bedroom?

You know, the chair? The chair where worn but not ready to go in the wash clothes go because it feels weird hanging them back up if they're not clean?

Then the pile of clothes gets so big you can no longer see the chair. Then when you crack and de-clothe the chair you find things you'd totally forgotten about?

Or is this just me? Am I the only slovenly one?

Ha, yes, we have the chair, groaning with worn-once clothes! Hubby moaned when i first brought it into bedroom, til i told him it would officially be the B*J** chair!! Suffice it to say, hubby fairly disappointed. ShockHmm

TrackerBar · 10/01/2019 10:27

no chair, but I do use the radiator which results in lovely warm filthy clothes and a cold bedroom!

Janetizzy30 · 10/01/2019 10:35

Not a chair but a bedding box. On my husbands side is a row machine.

onegiftedgal · 10/01/2019 10:57

Yes we have the chair, but it's not used for laundry 😉

Zintox · 10/01/2019 11:21

I used to. But I KonMaried and now if clothes are ok to be worn again I put them back in the drawers, and if not then in the wash.

@BlessYourCottonSocks, are you my teenager, lol?? Looks like their room.

NotdeadyetBOING · 10/01/2019 12:44

Thanks to this thread I have just spent an inordinate amount of time online looking for the perfect clothes ladder/rail/rack. So far - no joy mainly because I am too idle to self-assemble

dArtagnansCrumpet · 10/01/2019 12:45

Yep haha, I thought it was just me!

Mymomsbetterthanyomom · 10/01/2019 12:51

But from the inspiration of this thread,it is now clean and actually ready to be "chilled out" upon!
*Take that DailyMail and Mirror!!We aren't all crazy housewives, lol!

I have a chair in the bedroom, better than leaving clothes on the floor Smile

caringcarer · 10/01/2019 17:10

I get annoyed when my dh wants to share my chair.

Boulty · 10/01/2019 19:42

No chair - either they require washing - pretty much everything or they are aired on a hanger and returned to the wardrobe.

An overflowing chair is so 'untidy'.

Alwayscheerful · 10/01/2019 21:53

This thread has inspired me to clear my chair, I found two black jackets I have already replaced, I now have 4 similar jackets, I also found a lovely navy blue Whistles cashmere cardigan and 3 pairs of dark navy jeans. I have been shopping in my chair.
I keep my DHs wardrobe colour coded with matching hangers all facing the same way and all his shirts are ironed and pristine.
I need to up my game, I am going to sort my own wardrobe tomorrow.

Teacher22 · 10/01/2019 22:13

All of the DH’s clothes and my own are neatly hung in wardrobes. We would have the screaming Heebie Geebies if anything were out of place as we are both a bit OCD and find order and neatness elegant and calming. We have a chair and it sometimes has an item of clothing, his or mine, for a short space of time. We like the chair. It’s a fake Queen Anne straight backed one we bought in a junk shop in 1979 for a tenner and did up.

Vuyo85 · 25/01/2019 16:37

I have the chair and I thought it was just me!

Gigglebrain · 25/01/2019 16:43

I specifically got a chair for this very purpose.

paperbeatsrock · 25/01/2019 16:53

Our chair is a TV from the days before flat screens. We don’t watch it anymore; at this point it’s had a longer life holding clothes than it did in its previous role.

BloodyDisgrace · 25/01/2019 19:41

I see the point of The Chair ;), but no, we don't have this magnificent object in the bedroom. The clothes go to the washing machine (or in a neat bundle on the floor my husband makes which I then put in the washing machine). We don't have children, so we don't have floors and all surfaces covered with clothes in need of washing and the washing machine is used 1-2 times a week

BloodyDisgrace · 25/01/2019 19:44

erm.. if we are talking about the clothes which are "worn but not ready to go in the wash" - nope, still no chair. put these fuckers back in the wardrobe/draws.
