What is the ultimate Jacket Potato filling?

My pregnancy craving is jacket potatoes! I can't stop Blush

My absolute favourite is butter, tuna and cheese.
Sometimes I add beans to this too, hot or cold ones. Or just beans and cheese, or cheese and red onion.
Then there's beans and cheese..
Veggie chilli and sour cream..

The potato has to be slightly mashed with a fork in the middle and then covered in butter before any toppings are added.

Also, I went to a cafe today who didn't pre butter and gave me butter in a little pot - how on earth do you add butter to an already filled potato!?

Mmmmmmm AIBU to ask what the ultimate jacket potato is?

Chilli and cheese. Definitely.

theSnuffster · 02/01/2019 20:31

Tuna mayo and cheese. Plenty of butter. If there's no tuna then beans and cheese instead.

tryinganewname · 02/01/2019 20:32

Tuna mayo, sweetcorn and cheese
Chicken mayo and sweetcorn
Prawn mayo
Sour cream and chive

Bloody love a jacket potato!

BunsOfAnarchy · 02/01/2019 20:36

Cheese and beans.
Butter first, then lots of cheese, scoops of beans, then more cheese.
How the fuck can something so simple be so sex-worthy delicious?

BellMcEnd · 02/01/2019 20:37

My homemade coleslaw with coarse grain mustard

Cheese and tuna mayo

Melted Stilton (this is amazing)

Bean chilli with lots of jalapeños, cheese and sour cream.

Hummus

Aaaaaand just to shake it up any of the above on a baked sweet potato.

(YY to everyone who’s said the cheese should always go on the potato first along with a fuckton of salted butter)

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/01/2019 20:38

I have two.
Beans, cheese and butter with a sprinkle of salt and black pepper on the potato (I only have salt in potato and eggs).
Or
Jacket with butter, salt and black pepper, honey roast salmon (that you can buy ready done), hard boiled egg, lettuce, tomato, red onions and a blob of mayo. My summer go to tea

LEDadjacent · 02/01/2019 20:44

Doesn't matter what filling, the most important thing is that you eat the filling then put lashings of cold butter in the skin and savour every last mouthful.

Now I need a jacket potato.

RibenaMonsoon · 02/01/2019 20:47

A crap load of salted butter. Followed by cheese and coleslaw. Also very partial to coronation chicken, tuna or prawn cocktail.

I miss living with my parents. My mum can cook a jacket to absolute perfection. All crispy and amazing! My dad will never eat the skin and always leaves it. I always used to whack a load of clover on it and scoff it for him. Happy days!

ohhelpohnoitsa · 02/01/2019 20:47

Cheese and sweetcorn with a side of branston pickle or mushrooms in stilton sauce (no good for pregnancy though) . Beans and cheese is my go to...

yips · 02/01/2019 20:49

Chilli and cheese!

tethersend · 02/01/2019 20:50

When I was pregnant:

Scrambled egg with gherkins (I don’t know why either), at least once a day.

Now:

Vege chilli with sour cream and cheese.

MawkishTwaddle · 02/01/2019 20:52

Butter, beans, cheese - in that order.

Bolognese and cheddar.

Chilli, sour cream and cheddar.

Fried mushrooms and spring onions, melted mozzarella.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 02/01/2019 20:52

We also love cheese and hime made barbecue sauce which I may well have for breakfast after reading all these!!

BabyNameBook · 02/01/2019 20:53

Butter, cheese, beans, cheese, tuna, cheese, salt and black pepper. Mmmmmm.

Yup! I’ve been there Smile
Actually surprised my baby didn’t come out looking like a baked potato I ate that many.
Actually took him to the shop I used to go to recently and all the ladies remembered me and my daily order of jacket potato, cheese, beans and coleslaw. Salad on the side with sweet corn and beetroot Grin

I could eat one now

Snog · 02/01/2019 21:23

I had some tonight because of this thread but tbh the thought of them was a whole lot better than the reality

DiveBombingSeagull · 02/01/2019 21:26

With all this jacket potato love it makes me wonder whatever happened to spudulike? Are they still going?

Lavender00 · 02/01/2019 21:29

Can't beat a baked taty! I drizzle with oil and salt and pepper for an extra crispy skin. Fave fillings have to be;
Cottage cheese and beetroot
Tuna and jalapeños
Cauliflower & Broccoli cheese
Blue cheese and sour cream mix
Oooooo I need one now drool

Hulloa · 02/01/2019 21:37

I haven't seen a spudulike in years. It's all artisanal focaccia round our way, the cunts.

Although, there was an intrinsic problem with spudulike in that you need both hands, and ideally to be sitting down, in order to eat a baked potato. Similarly, a little plastic fork is insufficient cutlery power. It doesn't lend itself very well to the street food culture.

trooth · 02/01/2019 21:39

Mix grated cheese and a spoon of curry powder into the beans then microwave. Yum!

funinthesun18 · 02/01/2019 21:40

Tuna Mayo with cheese. YUM!

AdultHumanFemale · 02/01/2019 21:41

Roughly chopped hard boiled egg with mayo.

SeaToSki · 02/01/2019 22:03

The regular - butter, beans, cheese (mature cheddar)
The deluxe - butter, tuna mayonaise, chopped up crispy bacon and cheese
The blowout - butter, steak tips and steak juices, balsamic melted onions, parmesan and avocado in the side salad

All have to be in crispy skinned potatoes, well salted and very hot.

Mulberry7373 · 02/01/2019 22:17

Chilli con carne and cheese mmmm

Asj0405 · 02/01/2019 22:23

Top 5

Tuna mayo with chopped up onion and pepper, beans and cheese with coleslaw

Chicken and bacon mayo

Bolognese and cheese

Chicken Curry

Sour cream with crispy bacon and spring onions

Jacket potatoes for tea tomorrow night it is then Grin
