What is the ultimate Jacket Potato filling?

My pregnancy craving is jacket potatoes! I can't stop Blush

My absolute favourite is butter, tuna and cheese.
Sometimes I add beans to this too, hot or cold ones. Or just beans and cheese, or cheese and red onion.
Then there's beans and cheese..
Veggie chilli and sour cream..

The potato has to be slightly mashed with a fork in the middle and then covered in butter before any toppings are added.

Also, I went to a cafe today who didn't pre butter and gave me butter in a little pot - how on earth do you add butter to an already filled potato!?

Mmmmmmm AIBU to ask what the ultimate jacket potato is?

@BabyNameBook they're just kind of smoother and creamier, with a slit in the top for the last half hour of baking and then the French salted butter they do pushed inside they are just amazing!!!

coffeeagogo · 02/01/2019 17:22

Bolognese on top of a heavily butter jacket potato with loads of mature cheddar (and I wonder why I have a weight problem!)

BruceFoxton · 02/01/2019 17:22

Butter mashed in then Hellman’s then baked beans then grated Canadian cheddar. Oh, and caramelised onion chutney for the skin.

You are wrong MorningsEleven

limitedperiodonly · 02/01/2019 17:24

Coleslaw is disgusting and so is tuna

LaurieMarlow · 02/01/2019 17:25

Chilli, sour cream, cheese

forumdonkey · 02/01/2019 17:28

Double cooked - corned beef, spring onions, English mustard, cheese and butter.

I've not made any in ages and I'm definitely going to do this tomorrow. They're delicious 😋

Snowydaysaregreat · 02/01/2019 17:28

Chilli and cheese
Cheese and veans
Just cheese
Cheese and tuna.
See the cheese theme...
Never have butter

JuniperSling · 02/01/2019 17:28

Loads of butter, salt and pepper, then a big fat dollop of beef in ale or chicken curry.

Enko · 02/01/2019 17:29

Smoked Mackrel and sour cream.

Ham and Cheese

Cheese

or just butter salt and pepper (I dont do beans)

miltonroad · 02/01/2019 17:30

Smoked mackerel spring onions and mayo

Gotstuckwiththisname · 02/01/2019 17:32

Houmous, with a massive crunchy salad on the side
Or cheese, beans and branston pickle

waterplease · 02/01/2019 17:32

Loads of beans and cheese!😎😎😎

delboysskinandblister · 02/01/2019 17:32

Another vote for the rhino skinned spud. That's the best bit!
I don't trust anyone that eats the middle but leaves the hide. Hmm

Filling of choice: anything involving mayo and cheese.
Or beans and cheese and and a glug of Daddies brown sauce.
Cos I'm a classy bird Wink

Pachyderm1 · 02/01/2019 17:33

Butter, cheese, spaghetti hoops!

Glowerglass · 02/01/2019 17:34

Egg mayonnaise and cheese and coleslaw

Aph413 · 02/01/2019 17:34

Butter, cheese, beans and cheese.
Butter, sour cream, chives and crispy bacon lardons.
Butter, cheese and cheesy coleslaw (from m&s)

GrouchyKiwi · 02/01/2019 17:35

Prawn mayonnaise with avocado and tomato. Equally delicious with regular potatoes or kumara (sweet potato). It has to be a French-style mayonnaise.

subspace · 02/01/2019 17:36

I go back to Cheese and beans every time 😍 has to be with salad too.

Cream cheese and chopped dates is good for a change.
I did the fancy scoop out and mash with cheese and mustard then bake again thing, yesterday. With beans, obv.
Cheese and chutney.
Very occasionally cottage cheese and pineapple. With salad.
Sometimes egg mayo
I went through a weird slimming world phase of getting a giant JP with double (dry) fried egg on the market for lunch. The egg yolks burst into the potato to make it not dry and creamy, with salt and vinegar, yum yum!

2019HereWeCome · 02/01/2019 17:38

Butter and grated cheddar cheese. Nothing else. The simple things are the best.

thedoctorwillseeyounow · 02/01/2019 17:39

Chicken, avocado, and bacon, tossed in French dressing. Lots of (real, full-fat) butter on the spud, first, obviously. Topped with lots of freshly-ground pepper and sea salt.

Snugglepiggy · 02/01/2019 17:43

Tuna mayonnaise with spring onion or red onion finely chopped in,and red and yellow pepper diced if I've got them in.Piled on top then grated mature cheddar on top.I want that now!

subspace · 02/01/2019 17:44

Peanut butter!? Really? I did hope for a sweet suggestion but I don't think I have the lady bollocks to try it blush

A peanut butter jacket potato isn't sweet! 😱 it's gooey and lovely and you should try it with melted cheese and branston or marmite mmmmmmm

If you want sweet try a baked sweet potato with a spoon of yoghurt and cinnamon. Some people like it. those people would be wrong

gives up on plan to cook curry tonight

Northernmum100 · 02/01/2019 17:46

I wonder how many Jacket spuds will be eaten tonight on the back of this thread....

Said by the woman who has just arrived home from work and put the oven on Smile

Billydessert · 02/01/2019 17:48

Tuna crunch - tuna, cucumber, peppers, celery, red onion, salt, pepper, vinegar, Greek yoghurt.

Left over bolognaise, chilli or curry.
