What is the ultimate Jacket Potato filling?

My pregnancy craving is jacket potatoes! I can't stop Blush

My absolute favourite is butter, tuna and cheese.
Sometimes I add beans to this too, hot or cold ones. Or just beans and cheese, or cheese and red onion.
Then there's beans and cheese..
Veggie chilli and sour cream..

The potato has to be slightly mashed with a fork in the middle and then covered in butter before any toppings are added.

Also, I went to a cafe today who didn't pre butter and gave me butter in a little pot - how on earth do you add butter to an already filled potato!?

Mmmmmmm AIBU to ask what the ultimate jacket potato is?

Butter and cheese is the king. But I'm partial to mixing some coleslaw in on occasion.

OutPinked · 02/01/2019 16:14

Cheesy beans for sure.

BeekyChitch · 02/01/2019 16:16

My favourite are;
Coronation chicken
Cheese & coleslaw
Mayo, cheese & sliced apple
Chicken Curry

I'm now in the mood for a baked potato!

scatterbrainedlass · 02/01/2019 16:16

Cheese, then tuna, then half a tin of hot beans all over the top. Yummy, struggling with morning sickness but my mouth is watering now!!

IHeartKingThistle · 02/01/2019 16:17

Tuna, Sweetcorn, Sweet Chilli Sauce and Capers.

Cheese, Salami and Sphagetti Hoops.

Leftover Chilli Con Carne with Sour Cream, Jalepenos, Cheese and Salsa.

mummmy2017 · 02/01/2019 16:18

Try goats cheese, and caramelised red onions.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 02/01/2019 16:19

Longley Farm cottage cheese with chives

SusanWalker · 02/01/2019 16:19

Mayo cheese and apple sounds nice. My mum used to mix grated cheese with mayo and chopped onion, that would be nice too.

BillywigSting · 02/01/2019 16:22

Chilli, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and a few jalapeño peppers.

Or fat Cumberland sausages, beans and cheese.

Always with butter.

Occasionally just beans and cheese.

Whatever the topping is, some sort of bean and cheese combination is essential.

cricketmum84 · 02/01/2019 16:24

I love cheese and coleslaw.

Where I used to work there was a lovely potato place over the road. They did jacket potato with lamb Rogan josh, onions, raita and crushed poppadoms on top. To.die.for 😍

BabyNameBook · 02/01/2019 16:24

Thank you for indulging me Grin yes to the pp who said a big salad on the side, preferably with cherry tomatoes and red onion!

Definitely lots of salt and pepper.

Also if there's cheese involved it should go on the bottom and the top for example, butter then cheese then beans then more cheese..

Cheese and marmite for the win. The ultimate jacket filling! The stronger the cheese the better

TheRattleBag · 02/01/2019 16:26

I still fondly remember a curried chicken-topped jacket potato I had in the cafe in Boots (yes, Boot the chemist!) over 30 years ago Smile

CoraPirbright · 02/01/2019 16:27

I am extremely particular about my jacket potatoes. Cheese & tuna mayo is nectar of the gods but so, so many times when you are served one in a pub or somewhere, the grated cheddar is on top Angry. Are these people fucking stupid???? The cheese goes on first so that it melts but no matter how clearly you enunciate or how many times you say “please please put the cheese on first” they never do it. WHY??? It makes me irrationally furious (and makes other people back nervously away Grin)

EnglishRose13 · 02/01/2019 16:27

A whole tin of tuna, a whole tin of beans and loads of cheese, eaten the day after a hangover.

Fascinate · 02/01/2019 16:29

Coronation chicken. Local cafe does it, fantastic.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 02/01/2019 16:29

70’s styleee

Coronation chicken
Prawns in Marie Rose sauce with salad

Hezz · 02/01/2019 16:30

Prawn cocktail for me

GiBlues · 02/01/2019 16:30

It has to be cheddar and beans.
Proper butter, cheese in first then hot beans on top and then a sprinkling of more cheese on top.
God I want a jacket potato now!

Lulu1919 · 02/01/2019 16:32

Melted mature cheddar and homemade Coleslaw ..comfort food
