To consider going to a strip club cheating?

DP went out last night and was home much earlier than I was expecting, I asked him why and he said everyone had gone to a strip club so he got his kebab and came home

As the conversation went on he basically expected me to be very grateful that he didn’t go and came home early instead Hmm so I said “I’m supposed to be super grateful that you didn’t cheat on me, pay for the privilege and exploit a load of vulnerable women in the process? Get a fucking grip!” And basically we got into a bit of a ‘stripclubs aren’t cheating, yes they are’ back and forth for a while

I don’t understand how having a naked woman rub herself all over you would ever not be cheating - and even worse in a strip club than if you were just at a party because you’re actually paying for it! If it was a prostitute it’d be cheating so why not a stripper?!

He thinks I’m being dramatic Hmm
Do you consider going to a strip club cheating?

Strip clubs and paying to see a dance etc isn't cheating.

Cheating imo would be kissing someone else, having sex with someone else or any other very intimate thing.

I can understand why you are annoyed that he says you should be grateful he didn't go however.

Stop clutching the pearls - insult that has been thrown at women against the male exploitation of women for decades.

Imissgmichael · 23/12/2018 21:50

Yes F1ame having standards is so 1950s.

Signed your daughter up for stripping lessons yet? She could practice in front of random men pulled in from the local strip bar.

abacucat · 23/12/2018 21:52

Should unemployed women be made to take jobs stripping in local strip clubs?

Strongmummy · 23/12/2018 21:52

@imissgmichael - a wank machine?! That’s how you regard women who strip. Please don’t tell me you’re feminist. 🤣🤣

F1ame · 23/12/2018 21:53

Can I ask the PPs so keen to purport to be women and ex-strippers and who are so delighted about it on this anonymous forum Hmm, do you ever wonder about the women trafficked into the industry? Would you say you cared about those in your profession who have no choice?

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 21:54

I never met any and I worked for many years all around the U.K.

Strongmummy · 23/12/2018 21:54

@abucat, obviously not because that would be exploitation. No one here is saying they’re comfortable for women to strip if they don’t enjoy it !!!!

abacucat · 23/12/2018 21:55

But why not? Women do all kind of jobs they don't enjoy? If you really think stripping in a strip club is totally a ok, why should unemployed women not be made to do it?

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 21:56

I wouldn’t make a woman be a bar maid or a chef or a waitress. What planet are you on

F1ame · 23/12/2018 21:58

Well I used to work with women who were forced to work as strippers and prostitutes across Europe, Sand. Maybe a quick chat with one of them might be a wake up call. “Yay” and “fun” would not be your words of choice after that. The entire industry would sicken you.

Imissgmichael · 23/12/2018 21:59

Oh and F1ame make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand.

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 22:00

You have experience in a small part of the industry. Mine and many others have great experiences.
Both can co-exist

abacucat · 23/12/2018 22:01

sandbox So you are totally fine with women being on benefits and making no attempt to find work? Because most of the public are not.

But while women and men claiming benefits and not working can be forced to take jobs, stripping in strip clubs is NEVER included in this. Maybe because most people recognise that its is inherently exploitative and not something they would want their daughters to do.

Worsethingshappen · 23/12/2018 22:02

Someone said strippers are wank machines. Yes, that’s it.

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 22:02

So where you live it’s a choice to not work or be a stripper? Wow, here on Earth there tends be lots of jobs and education to choose from depending on what you want to do.

F1ame · 23/12/2018 22:02

It’s not a small part of the industry - not on a worldwide scale.
You are the “acceptable face” of what is essentially modern day slavery for millions. It’s up to you if you’re ok with that.

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 22:05

I’m fine with that.
Shit happens in every industry, I feel for women who don’t have a choice and if I ever came across one I’d do everything in my power to help. However after years working and meeting dancers from all around the world I never met one who didn’t want to do it

abacucat · 23/12/2018 22:06

sandbox Yep I noticed you totally dodged the issue.

F1ame · 23/12/2018 22:07

“I’m fine with that”.

Well there you go then. Most women aren’t fine with it though and that’s precisely why they don’t do it.

abacucat · 23/12/2018 22:07

Also I know people are paid to post positive stories about stripping in strip clubs on social media and there have been social media campaigns.

Sandbox · 23/12/2018 22:09

Bullshit aba.

Imissgmichael · 23/12/2018 22:11

“ - a wank machine?! That’s how you regard women who strip. Please don’t tell me you’re feminist. 🤣🤣”

Oh please Strongmummy, don’t pull that one, it really doesn’t work.

People, mostly men, visit strip clubs to get off sexually. These women are seen as nothing more than objects. Any stripper who thinks otherwise is delusional.

abacucat · 23/12/2018 22:15

There was an active campaign on tumblr with adverts about why stripping in strip clubs was such a great job. It was being posted i parts of Tumblr at the time that was frequented mainly by teenagers. I saw the campaign as it unfolded.

F1ame · 23/12/2018 22:15

Whenever there is a thread with the word “prostitution” in the title, it’s fascinating how a disproportionate number of women rush on to say what a wonderful, liberating career choice it has been for them and, of course, repeat ad infinitum the “feminism is choice” mantra. They are invariably all men and the threads get suspended while MN “look behind the scenes.”
