To ask what we have to look forward to after March 29th 2019

It turns out Theresa May’s definition of ‘soverignity and democracy’ is to postpone a democratic vote, not allow anyone except her to change their mind and generally run to clock down until her deal is the only option.

So what do people think about that?

What are the benefits we have to look forward to when we leave the EU given it turns out ‘they don’t actually need is more than we need them’ after all?

What are we doing this for?

(And for those who want to ignore Brexit, don’t read this thread. Equally, this is the biggest thing this country has ever faced in most of our generation so please don’t banish this to the Brexit section)

Living off spam and Frey Bentos pies

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 18:52

Mmmm - spam - that makes it all worthwhile!

OP posts:
Russiawithlove · 18/12/2018 18:52

Just asked for this to be put into the Brexit section.

My reason being that one Brexit thread was quickly deleted today when the vilest comment was made.
I assume the poster was banned it was that bad.
The hatred is getting out of hand.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 18:55

Moving it to the Brexit section won’t stop the division.

Hiding this won’t make it go away.

The very fact you think it will russia (interesting user name) is part of why we are in this mess.

What will heal the divide is making people understand what we gain by leaving.

Or conceding it’s pointless and supporting Remaining.

Living off spam and Frey Bentos pies

Fray bentos pies are actually a guilty pleasure of mine so I might add one when I start stockpiling food after Christmas.

user1471498837 · 18/12/2018 18:56

Nothing, we have nothing to look forward to.

Russiawithlove · 18/12/2018 18:57

Stop picking for a fight. Already you make a personal snide dig at my username. Yes my family are Russian.
What of it. Or do you want to be racist as well.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 18:59

I’m not picking for a fight - surely you are aware of the theories about it being Russian support that helped leave win?

If you support leaving, can you answer the title of the thread?

OP posts:
Russiawithlove · 18/12/2018 18:59

I post on lots of other threads. No one else feeds the need to comment on my username. I'm sick of it.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 19:01

Why are you sick of it if no one else mentions it?

I’ve only mentioned it because there’s a very strongly held view that it was Russian support that helped leave win because they want to destabilise the EU.

OP posts:
keepingmypeaches · 18/12/2018 19:02

Watching with interest. I know virtually nothing about politics

Russiawithlove · 18/12/2018 19:03

It's always mentioned on Brexit threads. If that's not racist I don't know what is.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 19:04

OP, whether Russia did or didn’t have involvement, that isn’t Russiawithlove’s fault is it?

Your tone is very aggressive. I get being angry, I’m furious about Brexit, but the way you jumped on Russia was uncalled for.

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 18/12/2018 19:08

Pure goadiness OP. There's a whole Brexit section, for debate.

ForalltheSaints · 18/12/2018 19:16

Mothering Sunday
Easter
A baby for the Duchess and Duke of Sussex
The Cricket World Cup in England for the first time in 20 years
Glastonbury (where for the third time in four years two family members may be playing)
The opening of the Elizabeth line (well some of it perhaps)
A new Poet Laureate, who may or may not write about the royal baby.
A new series of Doctor Who in 2020.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 18/12/2018 19:17

Life will go on, the earth will not spontainiously combust and we will all be ok! Brexit deal or no deal will be fine..We will all hopefully wake up the day after and continue on about our business,We will go to work, take the kids to school and all will be fine...There is always stuff to look forward to, be you a remainer or a brexiteer!

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 18/12/2018 19:21

I dont really understand why every single thread needs to be moved to brexit..bearing in mind it happens with no other subject

But i really really really want to know what was said on the other thread

I was lurking and it disappeared!!

Im very nosy...its a curse

MissyCooper · 18/12/2018 19:22

What thread was deleted

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 19:24

Ok, I apologise to russia, that was out of order - I made a link that wasn’t there.

I really do want to hear what people think we have to look forward to here.

2 years ago it was the promise of a bright new future, but now it’s clear that isn’t going to happen, what is spurring you on to still want to leave?

OP posts:
ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 19:25

I voted remain, and I’m pretty worried so I don’t know is the answer. I’d be interested to hear from Leave voters though (genuinely)

HateIsNotGood · 18/12/2018 19:27

Spring and Summer - happens every year.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 19:29

Ok, so the only answers so far have absolutely nothing to do with leaving the EU?

I realise my thread title is being taken a little too literally.

Anything Brexit related?

OP posts:
MissyCooper · 18/12/2018 19:29

Oh I was following that one this morning. I so want to know what was said Blush

FormulaFor · 18/12/2018 19:30

The sun will rise, the seasons will change, we have to change our behaviour to stop harming the earth.

People will find ways to survive and keep entertained, people will fall in love, babies will be born, people will pass away, life will go on.
