To ask what we have to look forward to after March 29th 2019

It turns out Theresa May’s definition of ‘soverignity and democracy’ is to postpone a democratic vote, not allow anyone except her to change their mind and generally run to clock down until her deal is the only option.

So what do people think about that?

What are the benefits we have to look forward to when we leave the EU given it turns out ‘they don’t actually need is more than we need them’ after all?

What are we doing this for?

(And for those who want to ignore Brexit, don’t read this thread. Equally, this is the biggest thing this country has ever faced in most of our generation so please don’t banish this to the Brexit section)

veni every single one of them.

Can you defend TM posing the vote in parliament for no other reason than she’s going to lose it?

Could you tell me why you think that’s different from being in what you call a ‘profoundly undemocratic organisation’?

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 20:32

Postponing not posing

For the everyday folk on the street the day after not much.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 18/12/2018 20:33

Bear

Please explain why the EU needs its own army when NATO exists.

Why extend what we were told was a trading area in a federal state?

Why can't we elect senior EU officals?

If the EU is so popular why the rise in extremist politics?

SummerGems · 18/12/2018 20:34

You still made racist pops at her though. Holding someone responsible for the reactions of their race is racist, and as you voted remain and are clearly a racist your comment that every racist who voted voted leave doesn’t hold true then does it?

Disquieted1 · 18/12/2018 20:35

You asked a question. I answered it. Now you want me to explain what is meant by not being bound by State Aid rules. I can't believe that someone so knowledgeable doesn't understand what this means.
You're not being serious, you're just looking for a fight.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 20:36

There isn’t going to be an EU army, and given the state of the British military I think that isolating ourselves even further is a very dangerous move, especially given the warmongers in power worldwide.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 20:37

Please explain why the EU needs its own army when NATO exists.

There is no EU army.

Why extend what we were told was a trading area in a federal state?

No idea what you mean here

Why can't we elect senior EU officals?

No different to the domestic situation, we elect the members and they chose a leader.

If the EU is so popular why the rise in extremist politics?

No idea - and you’re not helping to explain it.

So, about TM postponing the vote - what’s your justication for supporting that?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2018 20:37

The world won't stop turning. Oh phew.

FaFoutis · 18/12/2018 20:37

It wasn't racist at all. It was a comment on what has been happening on the internet, which is where we are.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 20:39

Why can't we elect senior EU officals?

We can’t elect senior U.K. officials beyond the PM

If the EU is so popular why the rise in extremist politics?

The refugee crisis made people angry, as did free movement. That’s why the rise in extremist politics, because racists got angry.

Why extend what we were told was a trading area in a federal state?

How are they doing that? Cutting off our closest trading partners to make a point seems awfully like cutting off your nose to spite your face doesn’t it?

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 20:39

Now you want me to explain what is meant by not being bound by State Aid rules. I can't believe that someone so knowledgeable doesn't understand what this means.

disquited I have absolutely no idea what state aid rules you are referring to.

I’ve no idea what support you think the UK can offer it’s industires that it couldn’t do whilst inside the EU.

The fact is, you have no idea either, you’re just trying to deflect the question.

Ninoo25 · 18/12/2018 20:43

I think it’s disgusting that TM is allowed to postpone a vote until a date where the likely options will be take her deal or leave with no deal. It’ll be too late for anything else. With each passing day this government is becoming more and more authoritarian and seems to have less and less interest in the wellbeing of this population.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 18/12/2018 20:43

I'm out. The ignorance of the situation is depressing.

Bear THE EU HAS SPECIFIC RULES THAT BANS CERTAIN STATE AID TO INDUSTRIES.

Look it up. It isn't hard. But for a racist ignoramus it might be.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 20:44

Well I'd assume if I was a Russian bot I'd not be using a particularly good disguise with my username would I

Very good point! 😂😂😂😂

I'm outta here.

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 20:47

Oh good, Leave voters being offensive, deflecting from the questions and indulging in whataboutery and sneering.

How wonderfully new and unpredictable!

Not one, not a single one on this post has come up with any coherent reason why leaving is better, and not one can have a civilised conversation about why.

Bearbehind · 18/12/2018 20:48

The ignorance of the situation is depressing.

You are quite right veni, it’s truly horrifying.

And writing in capital letters isn’t going to help. Neither is name calling.

You are just hoping it detracts from the fact you have absolutely no idea what kind of state aid you are referring to (on account of the fact it’s a myth you read about).

Prove me wrong - show me a specific example of ‘state aid’ we can provide to industries once outside the EU.

OP posts:
Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 18/12/2018 20:52

Ok, rufus, every racist that voted, voted Leave

I know you think im being pedantic and probably irritating

But thats not true either

Though I suppose it depends on your definition of racist

FIL and MIL have certainly come out with some very racist comments and they voted remain

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 18/12/2018 20:52

State aid was provided to Lloyd’s after the financial crash, the EU rules meant that since Lloyd’s were complicit in their own downfall, they had to sell part of their business alongside the subsidy in order to receive the subsidy.

Basically, it states there are rules on state aid to industry within an EU member state in order to prevent one country from massively subsidising industry in their own country at the expense of all the other countries.

Please, please tell me nobody is stupid enough to believe that the Tories would have any intention of subsidising industry in the U.K. Surely nobody is that unaware of recent history, and the fact that the reason industry in the U.K. is fucked is because of the damn Tories? Surely

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 18/12/2018 20:55

Well I'd assume if I was a Russian bot I'd not be using a particularly good disguise with my username would I

Could be a cunning double bluff Grin

roundaboutthetown · 18/12/2018 20:56

After March 29th we can look forward to government noticing that while it was fiddling about with Brexit, councils, schools, hospitals, prison services, social services, police, etc, were falling apart through neglect and underfunding. Then we'll all be delighted there's less money available than there would have been for the next 50 years and will crack open the champagne that we are now free to blame ouselves for all our problems. Hurrah! We could maybe have another war with somewhere to keep our minds off it, too.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/12/2018 20:57

Oh Bear, you have started another thread trying to spread hated towards 17 million 'thick/bigoted/racist' leave voters. What are you trying to achieve? You just sound like you won't be happy until you destroy the UK and can claim "look, I told you so".

You should hang your head in shame.
