It looks like rat. Please tell me it isn't rat?
I've eaten many a strange thing in my day (I have a weird job that often requires me to) but feel like rat would be a new low.
For context, I'm in Russia and was served it by a non English speaking Housekeeper who I suspect doesn't like me much.
it's rat isn't it?

Oysterbabe · 17/11/2018 18:13
It's definitely a bird. I'd eat it 🤷♀️
YoloThankfully · 17/11/2018 18:14
I can see lots face I'd say rat
YoloThankfully · 17/11/2018 18:14
It's not lot.
mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 17/11/2018 18:15
I think it looks like a bird as well.
CaliHummers · 17/11/2018 18:16
It's really small, easily would fit in the Palm of my hand so not likely a dick
Maybe it's just cold.
I'm voting for squirrel.
Iused2BanOptimist · 17/11/2018 18:16
It looks dry and tough and overcooked anyway. I'd stick to the salad. What's for pudding?
flyingspaghettimonster · 17/11/2018 18:16
Looks like internal organs. Maube liver and heart or something? Id try it and see.
MissWilmottsGhost · 17/11/2018 18:17
It looks like a bird to me, not a rodent or any other mammal.
Little drumsticks on the left, breast to the right. No wings. The 'tail' is its neck surely?
Disect it to be sure.....
and post photos
I'd eat it. But I'd probably still try it if it is rat.
Mightybanhammer · 17/11/2018 18:17
Small game bird. Of some kind.
ButchyRestingFace · 17/11/2018 18:17
You've got to eat it, else poor little ratty died for nothing.
WhiteCoyote · 17/11/2018 18:17
100% bird. I’ve dissected many! Likely quail or squab.

bevelino · 17/11/2018 18:17
Have you tasted it yet OP?
HildaZelda · 17/11/2018 18:17
I'm thinking something along the lines of quail or pigeon.
I ate something in a work canteen years ago that to this day I'm convinced was rat. Loads and loads of tiny little bones.
AlmostAlwyn · 17/11/2018 18:18
Clearly a quail or pigeon! Just have a taste, I bet it's tasty
Racecardriver · 17/11/2018 18:18
Could you tell us what you think she said and we can guess?
TheFaerieQueene · 17/11/2018 18:18
It looks like the egg Blon Fel Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen became when she looked into the heart of the tardis.
Bunnyfuller · 17/11/2018 18:18
Think yourself lucky: when I was in Russia some of the fine cuisine - eel soup (big fuck off segment of eel in fat and water),pike, chips with cold tinnedgarden peas on a small side plate, and crowning moment roast beef and trimmings - straight out of the chiller. We were at a dinner for their version of NASA and they adapted the menu for us uk bods
AdaColeman · 17/11/2018 18:20
I'd vote for quail, especially going by the size. Cut it open and taste a bit, probably delicious!!
TheSquashyHatOfMrGnosspelius · 17/11/2018 18:20
Woodcock maybe? It's definitely a bird of some sort. The bit everyone is calling the tail is the neck skin drawn back over it's shoulders.
ILikeyourHairyHands · 17/11/2018 18:22
Deffo a little bird of some description. Looks tasty, get it eaten!
anniehm · 17/11/2018 18:23
Stuffed quail from the picture I'm guessing
FitzChivalryFarseer · 17/11/2018 18:23
The way I am looking at it, I see two front legs with elbows, pointing to the left of OP’s photo. Rodents have short but muscular hind limbs. I think it has had the lower limb removed (no meat) and in cooking they have moved so they are pointing also to the left. There is a distinct gap in the middle, as you would expect for a mammalian carcass. The stump of the tail is sticking up to the right.

littlemisscomper · 17/11/2018 18:25
Ever seen Dr Zhivago? Maybe it's human?
Growingboys · 17/11/2018 18:26
I'm sure it's quail
FitzChivalryFarseer · 17/11/2018 18:27
I won’t post a picture, but for those who have the stomach for it, google image search ‘butchered rabbit’ (because they are available for sale). Then look back at OP’s picture. It is not a bird.
