It looks like rat. Please tell me it isn't rat?
I've eaten many a strange thing in my day (I have a weird job that often requires me to) but feel like rat would be a new low.
For context, I'm in Russia and was served it by a non English speaking Housekeeper who I suspect doesn't like me much.
it's rat isn't it?

mimibunz · 18/11/2018 17:51

Mymomsbetterthanyomom · 18/11/2018 17:52

silvercuckoo · 18/11/2018 17:52
As the neck was left during butchering, I'd guess a partridge, not a quail?
Katharsis · 18/11/2018 18:04
It's pigeon - poorly prepared but it is pigeon
RainbowsArePretty · 18/11/2018 18:12
Your job sounds interesting. Do you enjoy it?
jillb55 · 18/11/2018 18:23
My husband, a native of those parts, says it is partridge.
donquixotedelamancha · 18/11/2018 18:32
Definitely a bird. The 'tail' is it's spine. Cooked rat is a completely different shape. Also, no one serves rat with the hind legs removed- that's the best bit.
dejacqueray · 18/11/2018 18:34
just eat it. If you're ill - sue
donquixotedelamancha · 18/11/2018 18:34
This is hard for me, as a guinea pig mama
Your typing is excellent considering your lack of opposable thumbs.

The picture is stomach turning.

That’s all I have to say. Glad you survived, OP
AGHHHH · 18/11/2018 18:48

33goingon64 · 18/11/2018 18:59

Tellthemnothing · 18/11/2018 19:00
I feel sick.
BruegeITheElder · 18/11/2018 19:04
The picture is stomach turning.
Are you a vegetarian? The picture looks like cooked meat.
Strongmummy · 18/11/2018 19:08
It’s only got two legs. So it’s either a bird....or a rat with two legs. Ask her
FrightsaidRed · 18/11/2018 19:18
The OP already said upthread it’s quail - rtft people!
MrsMaisel · 18/11/2018 19:19
Da. Ya vegetarianets. In Russia that is, from now on. In England I remain a carnivore.
nannykatherine · 18/11/2018 19:23
i’m guessing your a maternity nurse/nanny/governess
pippitysqueakity · 18/11/2018 19:37
ask her she did. The answer is up the thread.
TheGirlWithAllTheFeathers · 18/11/2018 20:10
Small bird of some sort. Quail? There are 2 legs and that long thing is a neck. It'll be a songbird or something. When abroad just always say you're a veggie.
VelociraptorRex · 18/11/2018 20:16
@mumlost1940 I think that bit of genius went unnoticed - well done though
