I often can’t be arsed. Dh has to prompt me. Anyone else?

No that's gross and kinda disrespectful to the person sleeping with you

KC225 · 18/08/2018 13:23

No - you'll be on your own there love.

Only when my mental health is low. And then it’s a vicious circle. I feel shit when I don’t shower and then I don’t shower because I feel shit. I try to shower every day to keep myself on track.

Bighoooley · 18/08/2018 13:24

I don’t know what you mean? You don’t like hand washing or bathing? If that’s the case YABU as that’s grotesque. I would leave my partner if I had to prompt them to clean themselves.

ApolloandDaphne · 18/08/2018 13:24

Eh no. I shower every day as i respect myself and my DH.

blueberrycoconut · 18/08/2018 13:26

Both really. I rarely wash my hands. I do shower but as and when. I’m not in a fixed routine.

Were you bathed regularly as a child?

Lavende · 18/08/2018 13:28

You don’t wash your hands??? 😫

Raven88 · 18/08/2018 13:28

Some days I do my house work in my PJs and then get showered and dressed an hour before DH gets home. I am lazy and smelly in secret.

Lavende · 18/08/2018 13:29

FWIW I suffer from depression and on my lowest days I skip showering (which makes me feel grim) but to not wash your hands is nasty. Sorry.

cmlover · 18/08/2018 13:29

I have to habe a bath every day. the only time
I havnt see when iv been severely depressed and even then I was on my own.

HRTpatch · 18/08/2018 13:29

Another person has to prompt an adult to shower?
Awful.

Lynne1Cat · 18/08/2018 13:30

You shower "as and when"? How frequently is that? I think it necessary to shower every single day, usually once a day at least. I wash my hair every day too (and it's short)

PaulRuddislush · 18/08/2018 13:30

Feeling clean straight out of the shower is one of my favourite things. I do know some people who claim to go for days without one and I simply can't understand why but I guess we're all different.

Harrykanesrightsock · 18/08/2018 13:30

You do know you will smell to other people. You may be unaware but others will think you reek.

blueberrycoconut · 18/08/2018 13:31

Well yeah hrt, it’s generally my hair he notices and says ffs get in the shower

I do wash my hands Grin just not very often!

YeTalkShiteHen · 18/08/2018 13:31

If I’m not in the shower in the morning it’s a sign my MH is not good, at all.

Lethaldrizzle · 18/08/2018 13:31

I'm guessing you're pretty healthy as well op

Merryoldgoat · 18/08/2018 13:32

That’s vile.

cmlover · 18/08/2018 13:33

how far a apart is it normally?

you will smell, was in this heat.

in the winter I could see every other day at a push.
hair doesn't need cleaning every day though.

peachgreen · 18/08/2018 13:33

I've showered every day for the past six years. It's not a virtue though, it's unnecessary and a waste of water, but I just can't stand going to bed not feeling completely clean.

liquidrevolution · 18/08/2018 13:33

I shower every other day. I got in the habit whilst pregnant as the smell of water made me very ill.

I'll also admit to wearing clothes 2 days in a row (not pants) particularly if working from home.

We never showered every day growing up.

Deadringer · 18/08/2018 13:34

I don't always shower every day, i didn't bother yesterday but I will today. I wash my hands a lot though.

blueberrycoconut · 18/08/2018 13:34

It varies, in the heatwave I did generally shower most days tbf. Heatwave is well and truly over in my part of the U.K. I think I probably average at four times a week.

icelollycraving · 18/08/2018 13:34

If my dh had to tell me to shower, I’d be pretty mortified at myself tbh.
