To think it's not hot at all

I'm here in a blanket in the south west in a 3 story Edwardian and it's cloudy.

I've felt other heatwaves but this one doesn't even register tbh

I'm on the coast near Blackpool and it's 24 degrees
We've had rain on and off for a week

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 11:46

Forgot to say my house is 17 degrees. I know some workplaces will be hot, but surely many people like me at home are not that warm

Shitonthebloodything · 26/07/2018 11:46

It's 31 degrees in my house

Phosphorus · 26/07/2018 11:46

Well it's 31 here, and has been over 28 for ages.

No rain for a couple of months.

That's hot.

TopShagger · 26/07/2018 11:47

The fact you're in an Edwardian property is kinda besides the point! I have some cool rooms too, but that doesn't change what's going on outside.

If it's cloudy where you are then ok, but you must understand that this is not something that negates the bigger picture!

Notonthestairs · 26/07/2018 11:49

32 here today (Herts). 28 in my kitchen. It IS hot. But clearly not that hot where you are.

mogloveseggs · 26/07/2018 11:50

East lancs. 29 degrees at the moment. Too hot.

porkinmyteeth · 26/07/2018 11:50

I'm in the south east, near Brighton and it's currently 30 degrees. Hot yes, but great!!

PinkHeart5914 · 26/07/2018 11:51

Well I’m in the south, in a bikini in the garden with the dc and well im still sweating so we will have to agree to disagree! I have bi fold doors so the back of my house opens completely and still my house is hot

It’s not cloudy here I have a perfect clear blue sky. It’s 11:50am and My phone tells me it’s currently already 26.

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 11:51

Well it's apparently been 28 here, but the house is still pretty cool and lots of clouds so even gardening is fine. I'm wondering if it's just me? Really not feeling it at all and the mail is talking of havoc

Surely you have learned by now that when the news says "it's hot" or "it's cold" or "big things are happening" what they actually mean is - the south east. And they forget that for 90% of the country that isn't newsworthy because we don't live there.

The Guardian had some big piece the other day about how to keep cool in the heat and I thought, "what heat?". Here in Yorkshire it's been sunny and dry and lovely and warm but not hot.

But the media is very London-centric and that's just how it is.

AppleKatie · 26/07/2018 11:56

It’s 26deg in my living room and I’ve followed all the advice about keeping windows closed apart from the evenings/the blinds are shut etc...
Washing is drying in my garden in about an hour (inc thick towels).

So yeah it’s hot here.

TheShapeOfEwe · 26/07/2018 11:58

Currently 25 in Edinburgh, 29 in my office! That's too hot as far as I'm concerned 😅

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 12:00

Maybe that's just it - it's a south east thing and people not being able to cope with a few degrees more.

The weather this year has been amazing. Mid 20s for the summer and lots of snow in the winter.

OP posts:
toocool4cats · 26/07/2018 12:02

Yes well 26 degrees is pleasant isn't it, but a few degrees more becomes unpleasant unless you are able to jump in a pool to cool off every 30 mins!

LucyAutumn · 26/07/2018 12:03
Hmm
rightknockered · 26/07/2018 12:04

32 here right now. It will stay like that all night according to BBC weather. Hoping for a rainy day tomorrow to break the heat up a bit. Am giving up on kids or me sleeping tonight, will be out in the garden until late with ice-cream and cold drinks.

Grilledaubergines · 26/07/2018 12:04

33 degrees here. It’s hot.

Figgygal · 26/07/2018 12:05

It's cloudy in Bristol and no where near the suggested 30 degrees they were warning

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 12:06

Where is it 32 all night? London drops to 20 overnight and 17 tomorrow

Churrolicious · 26/07/2018 12:06

32 degrees outside here and 36 according to the groegg in my DS's room.

So over it.

rightknockered · 26/07/2018 12:07

Well I've had to come in from the (extremely hot South facing) garden, kids are all taking showers again. Even the water in the paddling pool is warm. Don't have the energy to refill. Just going to let the kids flood the bathroom

Haberpop · 26/07/2018 12:07

32° outside and even in the house it is 25°, the temperature in the house has slowly been climbing, most of last week we were below 20°. We haven't seen rain since the beginning of June.

JacquesHammer · 26/07/2018 12:07

Ah so what you mean is "it isn't hot here and therefore can't be hot anywhere?"

Gotcha

Itchytights · 26/07/2018 12:07

I don’t really care if your not hot.

It’s fucking boiling here and each part of the uk varies.

What is the purpose of your post?

Confused
