To think it's not hot at all

I'm here in a blanket in the south west in a 3 story Edwardian and it's cloudy.

I've felt other heatwaves but this one doesn't even register tbh

It’s hot. My rabbit is suffering with the heat no matter what I try.

You might not be hot but that doesn’t mean others aren’t.

callymarch · 26/07/2018 12:36

south east as well here, constantly over 30 and i find anything over 25 to be too hot for me. Windows and curtains closed during the day and my bedroom still 28 degrees last night, it stays hot in the house no matter if the temp drops to 20 outside!

i've spent most of the summer indoors or in air conditioned car. a trip to the air conditioned supermarket is all i can manage now.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/07/2018 12:40

South west here, it’s reading 21.5 on the hall thermostat. Cloudy outside. I’m not hot at all! (Got back from holiday yesterday and the house was cool as curtains had been closed for ten days). We have an old house so have lots of cool spots too.

AimlesslyPurposeful · 26/07/2018 12:40

Not sure why you felt the need to tell us you’re in a three storey home. Biscuit Anyway...

31°c here in South London. Not that it’s relevant but also in a three storey house. Only Victorian though - but one can dream of living in an Edwardian property like you.

Boulty · 26/07/2018 12:41

Well lots of the South West is hot maybe not the bit you are in! We all tolerate heat differently. Older people/very young children can struggle to regulate temperature.

It is the hottest I have known it to be for an extended period for many, many years.

BlancheM · 26/07/2018 12:41

I'm in Yorkshire and it's probably hotter than hell where I am. Haven't been able to sleep. Well and truly sick of it!

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 12:41

I think the heat is clearly affecting some people! Was just a British conversation about the weather and saying it wasn't universal that the whole country is struggling.

33 here. Southeast.

My tits are melting off.

Justanothernameonthepage · 26/07/2018 12:42

In the south and last night my dds room was still 28C at 11pm at night. With windows open and curtains pulled back. I'm a bit cooler today at 27c in my office so hope it's breaking. But don't think there has been a day when my home hasn't hit 30C in a week at least. No rain since June apart from a brief 3 min shower at 4am last week.

Mind you, my house is really good at holding in the heat and outside dropped to 19C for 30 mins this morning at 5 :) back to 26 by 8 though.

Eliza9917 · 26/07/2018 12:42

South east coast here and the thermometer on the wall outside is reading 30 degrees right now - bit cooler than it has been! It was at 35/36 yesterday.

jamoncrumpets · 26/07/2018 12:43

The South West has been markedly cooler than the East/South East this week, but I'm still not sure why you seem to think that it's all 'fine' because you don't have debilitatingly hot weather where you are.

It's 30c already in my (coastal, so cooler) part of the SE. I have a toddler and a newborn to try and keep cool.

OkMaybeNot · 26/07/2018 12:43

Oh forgot to add, I'm in a 1970s semi, two floors Wink

aintnothinbutagstring · 26/07/2018 12:44

We're in east anglia, its frickin hot and not so much as a whiff of proper rain for weeks. Can appreciate its not like that everywhere in the UK though and agree the news is very SE biased.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/07/2018 12:45

Never mind folks, rain forecast for some this weekend!

ItchyBitchFace · 26/07/2018 12:46

Yorkshire is hotter than the sun. I've had to take breaks from washing up to keep sticking my head in the freezer otherwise I'd have melted. It was already baking at 8 this morning. Me and the kids are hiding inside because it is unbearable.

I'm still happy it's not snowing though.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 26/07/2018 12:46

You're right, it's only 31 here today. Better get out the scarves and gloves.

Myusernameismud · 26/07/2018 12:48

Spare a thought for those of us who work in catering, the kitchen was 39.6 yesterday Angry (hot face, not angry!)

Nquartz · 26/07/2018 12:49

I'm interested in the weather for work & it has regularly been in the high twenties all over, even Scotland ShockWink

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 12:50

Trust me my house no one would want. It's beautiful and stunning but the matainance and bills are eye watering!

I really should rent out the top floor, it's not been used for ages and very pleasant temp wise if not in need of a bit of work

nokidshere · 26/07/2018 12:50

I'm in the SW and it's hot, 27 and climbing, due to be 31 by 4pm. It's cloudy though at the moment and very humid yuk

Inside my house it's 29 and that's with windows and doors all open. I can't close everything because it makes me feel suffocated

WilburIsSomePig · 26/07/2018 12:51

I think the heat is clearly affecting some people!

How can it be affecting people, if it's not that hot, according to you?

I can see now that your post was merely goady for the sake of it. Are you bored?

milkmoustache · 26/07/2018 12:51

31 again here. Some poor sods are tarmacking our roads today, so I am trying to whinge a little bit less!

DuggeeHugs · 26/07/2018 12:52

YABU

RiverTam · 26/07/2018 12:52

God, you poor thing myuser! I’m finding cooking in my own kitchen bad enough!

33 here, thermostat in the coolest bit of the house registering 27.

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 26/07/2018 12:52

Boiling here too and has been every day. I've not worn a jumper for weeks apart from a few days I spent in Wales and I had to put one on one evening. My business is horticulture and we're struggling. We're really lucky that our house is cool, but all this sun is incredible.
