To complain about TA comment

Dd was told off by a (strict) TA to untuck her PE T-shirt because it didn't look right.

I am outraged that she would comment on the appearance of a child and how they choose to wear their PE kit.
Yr 6 if it matters.

DD always tucks her shirt in because she doesn't like the feel of the waistband on her skin - no matter which uniform she's wearing.

Should I write and complain ?

Was her appearance commented on, or just her uniform?

Does the school have uniform rules?

It sounds petty from the teacher if there aren't uniform rules to follow and she shouldn't have 'told off' your DD (if that is what happened). But I also think it would be petty of you to complain - this is a small battle. Children are often given rules they don't want to follow at school and they have to learn to get on with it without their parents swooping in over every minor interaction.

I'm not sure what your complaint would actually be? That the TA shouldn't have commented on your daughters uniform? It's her job to do that as a teacher, surely.

She just has a few days left. I am not sure that I could be bothered to be honest.

No uniform rules at all whether tucked in or not - very relaxed about shirt placement. PE or normal.

I think you should feel horrified, appalled and disgusted, just to help keep it in perspective.

I've never complained about a teacher or TA before. This one is rude and hated by kids but she's never targeted my DD before.

Yes I definitely think in the last week of her life at primary school, now is the time to send a letter of complaint.

Odd thing to say given in primary school the younger ones put things on backwards or mis align buttons etc

These things don't matter, they really don't.
You will live a happier life if things like this don't bother you.
This is how it would have worked in my house:
Teacher says to dd. Dd says ok. And never thinks about it again. Never mentions it to me.

im so confused - you want to complain becasue a teacher told your child what to do in terms of PE shirts? Just who are you going to complain to - the head of the school or something? I dont see the issue myself - but if you want to make yourself look very very silly (and in the process your child will feel embarrassed her mother has complained about a non-issue) please go right ahead.

Ofsted, your mp, childline, the daily mail, phone the whole lot.

I'd bet a hefty chunk that your child got a telling off because there was arsing about in relation to the pe shorts.
