Costa or Starbucks

Sat in Costa today inspired by the mcds thread thinking how much I prefer Starbucks but it's more expensive and Costa has a better loyalty scheme

Costa for me!

Starbucks for me. I prefer their cakes and their Frappuccino’s

I’m a huge Starbucks fan! And I constantly get told that their evil and independent coffee shops are much better...I give no fucks!

Starbucks every time, their decaf actually tastes of coffee. Costa use pods, and most stores if you ask for a larger coffee still, only use one pod with more water.

Starbucks for me as their coffee taste's better.

Costa for me. Their hot chocolate is far better than Starbucks. And their smoothies are nicer too.

Starbucks... I think costa coffee is weak.. I prefer Starbucks cake, and costa are everywhere... in comparison to Starbucks round here there are about four costas to every Starbucks.

Agree Starbucks much better for decaf. Also Costa food is really bready whereas Starbucks has gluten free stuff.

I try and go independent first but otherwise prefer Costa.

Costa by a country mile but I'll drink Starbucks if I have no choice (eg motorway services). I'd always prefer an independent shop if I can find one but it's not always easy in an unknown place.

Neither, they're both over priced shit. And the service in our local ones is abysmal. Independent coffee shop every time.

Costa coffee is better so if I'm going for a standard coffee (latte, americano or cappuccino) I prefer Costa. But their decaf is horrible.

Starbucks has more choice. And their decaf is virtually the same as their normal coffee.

Starbucks for me. Their mocha and iced lattes are better and I love their luxury fruit bread and cinnamon buns. Of all the coffee chains, however, I like Caffe Nero the most. While I'm here, you can get a lovely latte from Sainsburys cafes.

Costa for me is very dependant on the barista. There is a 24/7 Costa by me which is ideal for getting a morning coffee before work but they show little effort (probably cos theyre shattered) so coffee is poor. But a nearby shopping centre one is always great. Generally I prefer Costa latte but Starbucks Americano and I always say no to any offer of trying a "new blend" cos they always taste weird 😒

Starbucks burn the beans which makes their coffee taste rank, Costa are slightly better in that they use decent beans to start with, but they still over roast.
