Costa or Starbucks

Sat in Costa today inspired by the mcds thread thinking how much I prefer Starbucks but it's more expensive and Costa has a better loyalty scheme

Costa. Starbucks coffee is too wishy washy.

Hmmm but Starbucks for their food.

We've got about 30 Costa stores locally, they seem to be cloning overnight. And not one of them is remotely clean. Even one that had just opened was filthy. The food is vile, as is the coffee blend.

Starbucks is actually a good blend - and the decaff drinkable. And their food is heaps better, but they seem to be dying round here sadly.

Having said that, I'd always chose an independent above either.

Neither, I prefer to give my money to a small business.

Costa. Starbucks coffee is bitter and nasty.

Though Coffee #1, a local chain, is better than either.

BUT...we had a dilemma today at a services. Starbucks. Or Costa...but only one of the automated Costa's in a WH Smith 🤔

Hardest decision I've had to make for a while 😬

I prefer Starbucks out of the two, their coffee seems to be smoother. However I'm not averse to Costa and will go in there happily.

Dislike Costa as their coffee doesn't taste good, their service is often slow and their stores without fail look like a tip.

I liked but didn't love Starbucks but have not used them of late; the racist incident was very unpleasant and I'd also like to see them do a lot more to reduce use of single use plastics.

2. Decent independent coffee shop (there are plenty of shit ones near me)
3. Nero’s
4. Costa
5. Anything else, including Greggs, Wild Bean Cafe, Wetherspoons
6. Starbucks

Starbucks coffee tastes burnt, and their iced drinks taste of caramel. Not sugar, caramel. If I wanted a caramel latte I’d have ordered one. They are also sickly sweet. Their cakes are dry and far too sweet. Their sandwiches are soggy and sweet. Their toasties taste of oil. And are sweet. I just really don’t like their products.

Hmm I would have said Starbucks until last week I had an amazing iced caramel latte in Costa....

Nero's, but costa second

Haven't read tft - I expect others have said this, but I can't get past the disgusting thick, clunky mugs in Starbucks. I go without if that's the only option.

Costa, the coffee at Starbucks tastes burnt 🤮

Never Starbucks, almost always Costa (six in my locality except for the village I live in) and Nero if I'm in town or at an airport. I like the jazz played mid-morning in Nero; very civilised.

I hadn't even considered Nero in the mix. Only have one near by but costas and Starbucks aplenty

Starbucks all the way. Always get in hot weather an 'Ice chocolate frappachino half coffee half cream based' mmmmm.

Low Carber so Starbucks for their Americano with pouring cream. I do think their blend is better anyway but almost anything can be improved with cream

The only one I’ll touch in Costa is the Flat White which although is not great carbs wise is much better than Starbucks.
Can’t contemplate most of the food in either place except the smoked almonds in Starbucks and 1 biscotti in Costa.

Costa 👌🏼 I go there so often the manager knows my drink by heart, he’s become my friend now 😊😊

Out of the two costa. Just has a nicer texture
(Cafe Nero if i was allowed to choose that though would have had my vote)

Costa coffee is better, but their hygiene is foul.

Starbucks do weak coffee for people who don’t drink proper coffee. Their hygiene is also foul.

I prefer Starbucks. Their coffee is over-roasted which makes it more bitter, which I prefer to Costa’s smoother coffee.
