I love it when underdogs win, so excellent. Plus, they played dreadfully throughout and really didn't deserve to go through. Still gutted about Nigeria and Iceland.

Germany are our footballing rivals. Not entirely sure racism comes into this anywhere - they are the team that have knocked us out many times before, and are a big challenge to us winning... how is that racist?

Any need? There’s a well documented rivalry at the World Cup between our two nations that usually ends up with us on our arse. Of course a football fan is going to be pleased that scenario is off the table.

Germans don't have super-ego players.

When Germany won the last World cup they were humble. In fact, they're humble after every WC win. When England got to semis in 1990 they thought they were the greatest team and got arrogant.

Germany keep match ticket prices low for working class fans, unlike England, who gave sold out for corporate sponsorship.

I'm sad for them, they deserve better. But happy for South Korea, their fans crying happy tears even though they're out too.

What will be really good is when the English go out.

Of course it's not xenophobic. They've gone through the group stages every year since 1938. One of the favourites to win and have just been knocked out by "lesser" teams. It's nothing to do with anything other than wanting the underdog to do well.
