Aibu Father's Day card from pets

I have happened upon a "fanpage" on Facebook called The world according to Dylan, about what looks like a severely obese cat and the first post is a card "from the cat" to one of the owners.

This strikes me as an odd thing. I've seen people put the animal's name in addition to the rest of the family but not send a card specifically from it.

Do you send cards from your pets to people? Aibu to think this is a bit silly?

I gave my DP a Father’s Day cats and present from the cats I don’t think it’s silly they are like my children me and my DP don’t have any kids yet.

My sisters do it to each other from their dogs.

I agree, it is a very silly thing to do. I love animals and have even worked with them in the past, but they are not humans like some people seem to think.

We do a Christmas gift each from our cat. We know it’s silly but he’s part of the family and we love him.

I send my 84 year mum a card from cat. She is obsessed with that mean spirited, hairy bastard. She loves the card from the card but I think given half the chance he would drag his pink balloon knot arse right over it.

We do silly cards and little presents to each other from the pets, because my husband regards them as part of the family. “They” got him a card and some chocolate buttons for Fathers Day because he got nothing from DSS again, doubt he’ll even get a phone call.

Absolutely got my DH a card from the dog for FD. Does it impact anyone else? No. Does it harm anyone else? No. Life would be pretty boring if we were all the same and I am sure each family has its own idiosyncrasies.

Of course it's silly, but it's nice sort of silly. Nothing wrong with a bit of silliness.

It's just a bit of fun. Live and let live and all that.

I'm so disappointed, I hoped this thread was going to be a complaint about the quality of card received from a pet.

Our dog and cats bought their Dad a card each. The cats were really rude about sharing a card with the dog. Just because he's younger than them and is constantly trying to play with them. That's just what younger brothers do.

It's not a new thing. I'm 50 and growing up every Christmas the dog bought me a Terrys Chocolate orange. My brother got one too. The guinea pigs bought my twins some candy floss in a tub for their recent birthday.

Our cat went out and purchased a card and a lovely Father's Day mug. DH was delighted! Cat is also very thoughtful when it comes to Mother's Day and birthdays. Harmless silliness which makes us all feel happy.

A little of nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest (wo)men.

I don't buy my dd cards from her cat. We both know that bastard wouldn't give nothing to no-one, except fleas.

My cats and dogs are my family. They buy me ace presents for Christmas and birthday; no one else does.

Our guinea-pigs buy Mothers Day presents for DD and I ( she has two pigs , I have one)

My guinea-pig happens to have impeccable taste and always guesses exactly what I'd like , funny that

We’ve always done presents/cards from pets in my family and DP and I still do it now, it’s a bit of harmless fun and we enjoy it, life would be boring if everyone was the same

Given that my dh earns the dosh that buys the cat food and keeps our feline overlords in chicken and tuna as well, as card is the least that i can do to say thanks.

They asked me to buy him some Cornish gin when I was in the UK for his Fathers Day present. I obliged.

I give DH a separate card from our dog, and it’s written in a highly amusing, sassy style. Eg “until you upgrade my dog food I won’t stop crapping near the BBQ”. It’s just a funny/cute thing to do.

Why do you need to tell us the name of the facebook page? Is it your obese cat who gives out fathers day cards?

My children like to get cards for dh from the animals so we do! It’s harmless fun

I always get 'sister' cards off my dogs every birthday , its cute, my mum loves writing what she thinks they'd say about it. We all love receiving cards off the pets

In truth the reason i do it is were struggling to have children my husband treats our dog like his child and she relies on him in much the same way a human child would rely on him.

each to their own, it's harmless and it makes people happy. Who cares? It's the sort of things my kids would do.

If I get a Tiffany blue gift bag from one of the dogs, I really won't complain
