Aibu Father's Day card from pets

I have happened upon a "fanpage" on Facebook called The world according to Dylan, about what looks like a severely obese cat and the first post is a card "from the cat" to one of the owners.

This strikes me as an odd thing. I've seen people put the animal's name in addition to the rest of the family but not send a card specifically from it.

Do you send cards from your pets to people? Aibu to think this is a bit silly?

I sent my niece a birthday card from my cat and she believed he had written it. Grin

TerfsUp · 18/06/2018 21:41

This thread is a hoot. I love the pet cards and gifts.

Tillytrotter123 · 18/06/2018 21:49

I got 2 Mother's Day presents, one from my daughter and one from my cat. We've always got presents from cats in my family, I'm sure they would if they could.

PoodlesOfFund · 18/06/2018 21:50

I used to regularly get birthday and christmas cards from the cat Hmm DH stopped when we had actual children he could forge signatures from.

Sadik · 18/06/2018 22:20

AIBU to be offended that not one of my cats has ever presented me with a card for birthday, mothers' day or Christmas. They appear to think that half a dismembered rat is a more suitable gift :(

MinaPaws · 18/06/2018 22:29

DH got one form the cat this year. DC both wanted to give him the same card, so they ended up sharing one and I wrote the second card as a joke from the cat. The cat was sitting beside me as I wrote it, and put his paw on the pencil throughout, so he took part in the writing, and I knew what he wanted to say.
If you can't be daft in your private life, where can you be?

BBTHREE76 · 18/06/2018 22:39

My kids put the cats name on their Father’s Day cards and presents yesterday. When they came into our bedroom to give DH the presents, our cat came in too and pushed in front of them to steal all the glory and praise 👍🏻🤣🤣

I always feel sorry for people who pretend animals are their children. Its something i always cringe at.

Fuckitbucket13 · 19/06/2018 07:58

I got a birthday card from my cat, the odd thing is noone I know has admitted they sent it.
I like to believe it was the cat who went shopping & hand wrote it.

I always cringe at judgmental people that let how other people choose to live affect them, even though it actually doesn’t. You clearly live a very dull life if that bothers you.

I always feel sorry for those who don't have the literacy skills that a grown adult should. Perhaps you should concentrate on learning punctuation before judging other people for having fun.

mydogisthebest · 19/06/2018 08:17

I feel sorry for people so miserable and lacking a sense of humour and fun

I cringe at people with no empathy and who look down on others who are doing something that harms no one and is a bit of fun. What a miserable person you must be.

BiteyShark · 19/06/2018 08:24

Wow there are so many miserable people about. I can just imaging the judgmental attitude some have expressed on here. Must be fun not in your household if a little bit of silliness to brighten people's day is cringy/awful/anger making.

I do wonder why it upsets people so much. People have said we must have something lacking in our life but I think those that find it so offensive must have more lacking in their own to attempt to look down on others for something that doesn't affect them in any way.

P.s. I got lovely flowers from the dog on Mother's Day Grin.

thecatsthecats · 19/06/2018 08:51

Had to laugh when my fiance came out with 'And you didn't get me anything from the cats on Sunday!'.

I pointed out he didn't get me anything from the cats on Mother's Day because he thought it was stupid, but he said I didn't think it was stupid, so should have still done it! Then he ignored me to cuddle his cat some more.

TerfsUp · 19/06/2018 09:18

I asked my cat why he didn't get me a card for Mother's Day and he just shrugged and rolled his eyes.

That's cats for you.

It'll be different when he wants his dinner.

pennylulu · 19/06/2018 11:46

We do it. No harm to anyone. Leave people alone.

Jaxhog · 19/06/2018 12:36

Our cats do birthday and christmas cards. It takes them ages to choose the right ones, and they make me pay. They also sign christmas cards to their friends.

GooodMythicalMorning · 19/06/2018 12:46

The bulldog got one for his daddy. He's a right daddy's boy. And some white choc buttons. Just a simple card saying from the dog with a multicoloured dalmatian on.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 19/06/2018 18:16

I got a hand written note and £30 from the cat one Christmas. He explained he'd walked into town and gone into the Pandora shop to buy me something but because he was so little they couldn't see him and ignored him.

auditqueen · 19/06/2018 18:19

I think that even if I had children I still would have sent them cards and presents from the dog......
