I disagree that all heels look bad. Some shoes look horrible, flat or heeled.

I agree with you, teetering along unable to walk , getting bunions, achy feet. I don't want that thanks.

YANBU. It's not being unreasonable to feel that a particular fashion makes is ugly and makes someone look ridiculous, but it's all a matter of personal taste. Other people will disagree. You may be "odd" in the sense of having an unusual opinion but certainly you are not "odd" in a negative way.

I think they're shite too, OP. So I don't wear them. Sales of high heels have been falling for several years, so I guess we're not alone.

People wearing high heels don't always look ridiculous though.

I particularly dislike those with a platform under the sole - they make the wearer look as though they have trotters instead of feet.

YABU. I love heels and I miss wearing them all the time like I did before I had kids. But trudging around soft play, school runs and the countryside isn't much fun in 3" heels.

What do you think women/girls should wear instead to look physically appealing to you?

A lot of high heels look nice, but some young women nowadays wear heels that they literally cannot walk in and they have to hang on to their partner's arm to get down the street. That looks ridiculous and not the least bit elegant.

I think a lot of people can't walk very well in them which look looks awful. Plu it seems RIDICULOUS that women regularly wear something that makes it so hard to go about their normal business.

There's a real art to walking well in heels. I mastered it when i was young but can't do it now. I can't go higher than a 3 inch heel and that's only for special occasions.

If some daft women want to hobble their feet in painful and damaging shoes that they can barely walk in, in order to please men, that’s their choice. Rather like Victorian whalebone corsets, or foot binding- it’s a useful identifier for idiots who have sold out to the patriarchy!

I actually prefer a bit of a heel or wedge. I get back pain with very flat shoes such as ballerinas or flip flops. But I haven’t worn very high heels since the ‘90s.

I don’t have any problems walking in low heels, thank you.

Whether they look good or not largely depends on the wearer's ability to walk properly in them.

I love heels. I am flat footed so find I walk a lot more elegantly in them.
Unfortunately as I’ve got older I struggle in he super high ones I used to wear :(
