To think cleaner could have flushed the loo?

Is this an unreasonable expectation? Ds 7 had done a poo without me realising and not flushed. Isn't that just a given when you're cleaning the bathroom?

Isn't it a just a given after going to the toilet!?

Katinkka · 09/05/2018 18:29

Sack!

Smeddum · 09/05/2018 18:30

Why didn’t he flush the toilet? Surely you should be telling him off not wondering why the cleaner didn’t deal with your child’s shite?

Frustratedboarder · 09/05/2018 18:30

Yep definitely strange! I'd be inclined to think she hadn't been near enough to it (ie hadn't cleaned the loo!) to spot it in that case, tbh.. if all else was as normal then yes I'd think that was a bit remiss!

Laiste · 09/05/2018 18:30

7 year old poo'd without flushing before, during or after the clean?

Palegreenstars · 09/05/2018 18:31

I think it’s up to her. I imagine it’s pretty grim to find an unflushed toilet when you are trying to do your job though - like leaving your dirty knicks out.
I’d always have a quick check / today before a cleaner came if I had one.
I’d just apologise to the cleaner for not noticing and explain you are working on it with your kid.

ShatnersBassoon · 09/05/2018 18:31

It might have been the cleaner's calling card.

treeofhearts · 09/05/2018 18:32

Isn't it a given that a 7 year old should be flushing the toilet by now? She is a cleaner, not a nanny. Perhaps she had already cleaned the toilet.

AlonsosLeftPinky · 09/05/2018 18:32

I think the issue is your 7 year old not flushing the toilet.

I'd fully expect my cleaner to avoid that too.

Psychobabble123 · 09/05/2018 18:33

At 7 there is no excuse for not flushing the toilet, my 2 year old can do it for crying out loud!

Puffycat · 09/05/2018 18:33

If a rogue poo is left unflushed for too long it can become a major ‘floater’ and almost impossible to get round the ubend..🤢
7yr old really should have flushed, but cleaner DEFINITELY should have!

Furiousaboutinstarubbish · 09/05/2018 18:33

It was before the clean and i missed it. Would have thought it's just part of the job, no?

OP posts:
BrutusMcDogface · 09/05/2018 18:33

Bloody Nora.

FranticallyPeaceful · 09/05/2018 18:33

Jesus wept. Teach your child to flush the loo

T1M2N3T4 · 09/05/2018 18:33

Perhaps your ds had a poo after the cleaner had been

EmmaC78 · 09/05/2018 18:34

It is not nice to expect someone to flush away someone else's poo. A quick word with your son is needed here.

Smeddum · 09/05/2018 18:34

Would have thought it's just part of the job, no?

No. Literally nobody expects their cleaner to deal with their own child’s faeces. It’s his job, or failing that, yours.

BrutusMcDogface · 09/05/2018 18:34

Psycho - my 6 and 8 year olds both did it when they were 2. Guess what? Now they forget. Hmm

BrutusMcDogface · 09/05/2018 18:35

I would assume that the cleaner didn't actually clean the toilet, because that's pretty impossible without having flushed it.

Psychobabble123 · 09/05/2018 18:36

Brutus how odd, my 11 year old could and still can....

BrutusMcDogface · 09/05/2018 18:38

Oh they can! That doesn't mean they always do! I must be doing something wrong. Tips please from someone who can obviously do a better job than me?

Smeddum · 09/05/2018 18:38

Psychobabble123 my 11, 4 and 4 yos manage too! Mostly because I wouldn’t let them away with it if they tried, because it’s minging and inconsiderate. I’m Shock that OP thinks her cleaner should have to deal with it! and not entirely convinced they’re not a poo troll

bumblenbean · 09/05/2018 18:38

Maybe she thought it was yours? Shock

Palegreenstars · 09/05/2018 18:38

Cleaners clean not tidy / flushing the loo is tidying.

Ask her to do it if you want - if you feel embarrassed asking her to do something you probably shouldn’t be asking

AsAProfessionalFekko · 09/05/2018 18:39

Did she wipe around the poo - or maybe it wasn't DS after all...
